Been travelling all day so just got around to watching the highlights.

We looked nice and direct with some good interplay between the young lads, Barry looking much better and Hackney looking creative.

Mykolenko looked shocking defensively though, I’m not sure Aznou could be worse than Myko was today

I’ve not watched any of pre season but sounds like Armstrong, Barry and Rhol could go up a level.

There is a good young core to the squad, I just have little faith in Moyes getting the best out of it this season.

Surely preferable to JOB playing RB though no? That said, if an actual RB isn't brought in it's an abject failure.

I'm not massively convinced at Rohl playing RB, especially against a more established premier league left winger.

However absolutely no issue with moving Garner there and playing Rohl or Hackney alongside Norgaard.

Feels like we finally have so e flexibility in the team where moving one player out or to a different position doesn't end up with a catastrophic imbalance in the lineup.

I just hope Moyes shows some flexibility, too

There were loads of positives yesterday

George was great I thought, he’s a really exciting talent. He needs to be a regular starter and we need to keep encouraging him. Not everything he did came off but his pace and skill are massive assets to us. He was always an option for an outball on that left side and Garner, KDH and Hackney are all good passers of the ball who can switch it quickly - this could make us really exciting this season

Generally I think that some of last seasons signings that maybe Didn’t hit the ground running can do this Time around thanks to having a full pre season

I’ve been so impressed by Thierno Barry in pre season. He looks fitter and sharper and seems to have incorporated receiving the ball and turning and running with the ball immediately into his game

My Dad hates him and yesterday was still moaning about him Everton Da style!i really hope as a fanbase we give him our full backing cos I think he will thrive off that positive energy. That moment second half when he progressed us up the pitch like 30/40 yards and won a free kick just outside the box - my Dad was going he’s crap there he’s just lost the ball. And I was off my seat applauding him for it!

Lastly I’ve got a feeling the world won’t end if we start Adam Aznou at left back

Another positive from the friendlies is seeing more of Travers in goal, think this lad is more than capable of replacing Pickford in cup games and may even be his successor, you have to ask yourself if one is on £150grand a week and the other is on £25 grand a week , is the gulf in ability that big ?

Yes. He is a more than competent back up, there's been rumours he is on his way. But he is not Jordan Pickford

He’s been shite any time he’s played a proper game.

When did he last play a “proper” game ? saves a save whether it’s in a friendly or any other game surely.

Cup game last season.

Looked shite. Was shite when he played for Bournemouth as well.

Been a back up everywhere he’s played.

Thought Travers was Boro bound and we are replacing him with Sam Johnstone?
