disappointed in delap this season but this is the price u pay when u join the harlem globetrotters
little game time and he tries to hard every time i see him play
if he was just given a run of 10 games for example we would see the proper delap -
the current result is he gets hot headed and commits bad fouls and gets carded too often - but i still think under the guidance of davy moyes here he would flourish in our team - first choice every match i would welcome delap here as he clearly has all the moves

Delay would be a disaster here. He’d rack up more reds than goals.

Didn't want him when we were linked in the summer and even less so now.
Had one good season but even then I wasn't impressed by him, especially how easily Tarks got in his head when playing us.
We've got Barry who fills the young with potential bracket so if we're buying a striker I want someone who not just fits Moyes' profile of a target man, but someone who is reliable and puts in good performances when not scoring.
Chelsea rarely sell at a loss, and they pay well... So it's not like we'd get a cut price deal for Delap, and he'd demand wages he doesn't deserve.
It'd be open to a loan, but otherwise there's better value and a better player elsewhere imo

Would have him all day but would rather we kept with Barry as the main man.
He’s been unlucky with his injury.
The move isn’t the disaster people make it out to be. He plays plenty.

He plays plenty and he’s done fuck all, they’ll be replacing him in the summer

Head and shoulders above where Barry is right now. The issue is Chelsea would ask for a premium over what they paid for him, which makes it not worth our while.

Chelsea is a often not a good move for young players who need game time IMO. I expect him to leave in the summer for someone and probably go on to have a decent at worst Premier League career. I firmly believe moving to Chelsea is a the football equivalent of selling your soul to the devil, which is ironic, seeing as Chelsea are one of the most soulless clubs of them all.
Can't agree with that. They have an incredibly young squad and it's a good place for young players, if they're good enough. They have the youngest average age of players used this season, it's definitely not the death knell of a young player's career. There is a lot of competition though, but you can't blame players for believing in themselves and thinking they can go there and have an impact. Also, if it doesn't work there's plenty of time left in your career for the next move, and the next.

I think it shows the danger of an unusual deal. Be it a cheap release clause, be it what we did with deli Ali or be it Harvey elliots loan to villa.
No way chelsea would have been interested in delap at a price ipswich really wanted. They saw him as a free bet rather than someone they really rated

It's got Chelsea flop and Fulham loan written all over it hasn't it?

Would prefer that over a James Beattie-esque signing for us.
Comments still hold up. He'd be the most Beattie-esque signing since, well, James Beattie. If anything it should only be a loan.
