We can probably get Norton-Cuffy at any point, which probably shows he's not actually all that good. Can see how this relates to Doue etc, but there are still dozens of players in the £20m bracket that would jump at the chance of earning £50k p/w in the PL.
Still all comes down to courage of your convictions and bravery in the market.
Obviously the earlier you get players the better, but getting a player a few steps above is still overall far more productive.
I think you still have to aim high and see where the chips fall, it only takes one to agree to a move and you are rewarded for that ambition.
