The same Antonio that was aggrieved that West Ham wouldn't offer him a new contract at the age of 34 when he'd just wrapped himself around a tree at 100 mph.

It's poor management by Moyes though without question if true and it would be a pretty odd thing to make up.
Yep

Michail Antonio was speaking to launch his book ‘Humans not Robots: when elite sport and real life collide’ (Harper Collins, June 2026)

Can’t believe an editor somewhere didn’t object to putting collide in the title.

He might come across as a wanker but he would have to be pretty disturbed to make that up

I think if Moyes stays we are in a relegation battle next season regardless of who we buy.

The problem he faces is that he has thrown the fans under the bus with his comments after the Spurs game.

It'll get used as a stick to beat him with as soon as we have a negative result. He's on a hiding to nothing IMO.

I think the same.

Feels like we were on the right side of a few tight games earlier on in the season and didn’t get the rub of the green towards the end, but if you set up to just nick tight games every week eventually your luck will run out.

We still haven’t developed a style of play in 18 months, no evidence of patterns, nothing much coming down and around the sides. Just relying on individual players to do something or the occasional ball over the top for Beto.

I might be wrong but the players don’t look overly happy out there. Looks a tough slog playing under him with his insistence on safety first and functional players and he’s too old to change now.

I can’t get excited at new players coming in as we know it’ll just just be like for like and same again.

Think the relegation shouts are hyperbolic tbh.

We were a few points off Europe despite a largely dysfunctional team, so the idea we'll be in a relegation battle despite strengthening this summer seems far fetched.

Also doesn't account for teams like Bournemouth and Sunderland having to juggle Europe and the league leading to an inevitable drop off next season.

Far more likely to finish 8th than 18th, even if I'd swap Moyes for someone younger and more progressive.

Could also be argued that we had a functioning team but stubborn Moyes wouldn’t change it who is to say he won’t revert to the same next season

I'd struggle to accept our full back options, regardless of who was picked or not, were ever functional.
