Back in the Upper South today after a while and maybe I just got unlucky but first half there were 3 separate groups around me just talking about inane shite. Like, you wouldn't know they were actually watching a match because they never commented on it. Maybe part of that is us being crap but why do people do this?

Only place that's been good for me, is the standing bit. Sat all over and hated it everywhere else.

Tourists, people saying sit down, and zero singing.

Yeah some bad bad biffs sit in the upper south. Just saying the most inane dumb shit.

I find a lot of it is performative to seem accepted too, like who can have a go at Mykolenko the loudest. Who can moan the most. Just go watch fucking snooker lads yo clearly hate football.

Just seen someone point out that, next season there will be even more teams in Europe, so we're going to be saddled with just as much crappy home fixture rescheduling, to accommodate both fixtures with those teams and the TV slots that have to be filled by teams not competing in Europe. Hope you all like Monday night football... 😩

Not only 9 teams in Europe but one of those is Man United and West Ham are getting relegated.

So basically the two biggest draws for Monday night fixtures will be us and Spurs. Hopefully Chelsea miss out on Europe as well which would give us some relief.

Having had a season ticket at Goodison for over 20 years, I live in the north east and have waited ages to go to the new ground. I was there yesterday. Its an impressive ground but to be honest once in there and having climbed what felt like mount Everest it left me cold. I could have been anywhere. I know we need to move forward but It didn't get the hair standing up on my neck Goodison did. I used to sit in the Park End and I couldn't wait to get there with all the regulars around me.
I drove past Goodison on the way home and got the feeling seeing The Grand Old Lady. I'm 67 now and can't be bothered with the 3 hour drive each way me and my wife used to do every home game. I've been and been impressed but I doubt I'll go again. Its too much hassle, I'll watch the dodgy box every game at least I can get to the toilet quickly.

Newcastle, Spurs, us and Chelsea would probably all see equal time.
Forest and Leeds do have large enough followings to move the needle as well.

But it's not just about the European teams meaning we get "picked" for TV loads - it's also the fact *so many* teams are playing midweek, that we will all be shunted to Sunday and Monday to allow half the league an extra days recovery after their European games.
