Painful watching villa do so well while we almost got relegated and struggled financially

Wasn't so long ago they were relegated (bottom??) and we were signing their best player. Its just crap watching us be the architects of our own demise for what in truth has been decades and decades now.

Another way of looking at it is that it shows it's never too late to turn the ship around.

Newcastle to another degree, like villa, got relegated, came back up, both won a pot and had a few seasons in the CL.

Goes to show it's just a case of getting it right with calls such as the right set up at boardroom level and manager.

Whether or not we can follow suit is anyone's guess.

But it shows you can sink to some extreme lows and eventually get it right.

Like the FA Cup, this is another thing ruined by not being after the season ends.

How can you win a European trophy and then have to play a league match 4 days later?

I think its because they are trying to play them on different weeks so they have to be during the season or teams would have 2 weeks without a game
