So basically what the majority are saying that if the Friedkins bankrolled Everton to win the champions league you’d all hate it…..
Ye right…..
They’d be bankrolling us along with about ten other teams in the league.
Wrexham have spent ten times above their competitors and brought in players who are levels above the leagues they’re playing in.
What’s they’ve done isn’t an achievement. It’s a formality

They wouldn’t be bankrolling us with 10 other teams? But I know what your saying…so what about the teams “we leave behind” or doesn’t that count in this “discussion”

No, about ten other teams in the premier league are bankrolled.
For us to spend in comparison to Wrexham have with their rivals we’d have to spend at least £500m in the summer and have a wage bill nearly twice the size of Man City’s. Just is never happening.
There’s no double standards from myself. The only double standard is the people who moan about the way the game has gone yet expect people to be happy for teams like Newcastle and Wrexham. I just can’t, it’s terrible for the game imo.
Wrexham are just the start. We’ll see more famous Americans with too much money using our game as a vehicle to park their riches.
Ye but my “theoretical” point was if Everton “did it” would that be fine or would people be annoyed about it…..
Get what your saying tho but this ain’t a new thing this has been going on since the inception of sky and the premier league and as its now “business” not football it ain’t going away..
Birmingham's spending is already off the scales for that level. £15m rising to £20m for Stansfield. Two others bought in for £4m+ just last summer. Moving forward with a new ground that will dwarf Villa Park even if Villa do their planned North Stand upgrade. The Americans are absolutely lashing money at them.
Worth noting is if Birmingham hadn't bought Stansfield, the league one record transfer of all time would have been Willumsson who they also bought last summer and had they not bought him, it would have been Klarer who they also bought last summer. No one has ever spent on the scale they did and I know they are a big club for league one but having seen Forest, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday there relatively recently, they aren't unusually massive to have gone on a spree like they have.
Wrexham's transfer record is still £2m.
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.
On a League one tangent, Wycombe have announced kids season tickets next year will be £25 regardless whether they are promoted or not and will include a free home shirt. Can't knock that to be fair.

What are Birmingham doing? I think I read Wrexham will financially be on a par to the parachute payments clubs coming down from the PL.
Been taken over by some mega rich owners who seem quite ambitious.
Proposed plans to extend the ground as well to a high capacity.
Seems they are serious and want to make a real go of it. Not sure how the spending restrictions are with them coming up from League 1 but they seem to he throwing about 20-25M bids which is still quite high for that level.

That's genuinely amazing. My local club is Consett AFC which is some lower non league team and they announced their season ticket prices today, juniors are £21 with no free shirt.
I think that really puts in perspective how fantastic that is for a league one team to do!
