Great Goodison moments.
Re: Great Goodison moments.
Doesn’t feel real. I was speaking with my dad at the weekend, and I just don’t really know how I am going to feel walking to Goodison for the final time. It’s not really excitement or dread, but perhaps proud of what the club has achieved at Goodison, and much sadness to be leaving such an iconic place full of memories for me (and many many others). All those goals, the noise, fans going mental, bad weather, crap views, packed out stands, the roof so low it almost feels like you are going to bump it with your head, friends and family enjoying moments together, rubbish walks back after losing, last minute wins and losses. And off into a brand new stadium we go.
I mean, it is just a building. But when do bricks and mortar become something more? Some places just have that special something about them, where they seem to store history within their bones. That’s what Goodison is to me when I walk around it. It’s not just an old ground - it has so much character and charm about it.
How do you pack over 100 years of history into 1 day? Well, maybe the answer is that you don’t have to. At the end of the day, people are what make buildings special. We have a chance at Bramley Moore to create memories for future generations, all whilst remembering the great times at the Old lady.

In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.
