Everton have also discussed a move for Doak, although Liverpool are believed to be seeking about £25million to £30million for the 19-year-old Scotland attacker, who was the subject of a failed bid from Crystal Palace in January.

Doak made 24 appearances on loan for Middlesbrough in the Championship this season before returning to Anfield due to injury. The pacey attacker was signed from Celtic for £600,000 in March 2022 and has made ten appearances for Liverpool.

Regular opportunities at Liverpool would appear limited, but while Everton’s owner, The Friedkin Group, will make a sizeable budget available, Moyes will have to carefully allocate resources to bolster his squad.

Actually think it makes relative sense to just keep hold of him as a 4th CB. We've got so much else to do this summer. He won't play very often.

Definitely makes sense, he will start today against Newcastle in the absence of Branners and Tarks which is why we have a fourth option, would be stupid given the amount of recruitment that we have to do in other areas to let him go on a free and then buy a new fourth option in.

Yeah Keane is fine as a 4th choice CB, obviously on reduced wages.

If he leaves you either spend money that needs to be spent elsewhere replacing him, or sign someone who's shitter on a free.
