The Rebuild

Re: The Rebuild
All Joyce does in that article is quote Moyes “We have had a chance to speak to him,” Moyes said. “He’s spoken to three or four clubs and he’s given us the opportunity to pitch our case. We’re probably a little bit behind the black ball, but you never know what happens.”
However...
Everton have also discussed a move for Doak, although Liverpool are believed to be seeking about £25million to £30million for the 19-year-old Scotland attacker, who was the subject of a failed bid from Crystal Palace in January.
Doak made 24 appearances on loan for Middlesbrough in the Championship this season before returning to Anfield due to injury. The pacey attacker was signed from Celtic for £600,000 in March 2022 and has made ten appearances for Liverpool.
Regular opportunities at Liverpool would appear limited, but while Everton’s owner, The Friedkin Group, will make a sizeable budget available, Moyes will have to carefully allocate resources to bolster his squad.

Re: The Rebuild
Doak is good but I'd rather we just continued to do absolutely no business with them lot.
Re: The Rebuild
Definitely makes sense, he will start today against Newcastle in the absence of Branners and Tarks which is why we have a fourth option, would be stupid given the amount of recruitment that we have to do in other areas to let him go on a free and then buy a new fourth option in.Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 8:44 pm Actually think it makes relative sense to just keep hold of him as a 4th CB. We've got so much else to do this summer. He won't play very often.

Re: The Rebuild
Move him on, I get what everyone is saying about him as fourth choice backup etc. but as soon as the season kicks off the same people’s heads will be falling off the minute he starts a game , especially as Brainthwaite always seems to start seasons late.
Lovely lad, good footballer but mentally weak and makes the back line nervous as fuck.

Re: The Rebuild
Yeah Keane is fine as a 4th choice CB, obviously on reduced wages.
If he leaves you either spend money that needs to be spent elsewhere replacing him, or sign someone who's shitter on a free.
I'd have zero problem him getting another deal, just needs to be a short one on sensible wages.

Re: The Rebuild
Ben Doak is good like, no way the shite cut us a good deal though. They'll have our pants down if we really want him.
They got 27.5M for Carvalho.
Selling absolute tat for obscene money is their forte.
Re: The Rebuild
Hopefully he sees sense, He'd stall massively at United or Chelsea. Seems from this we will give him a good salary.
Re: The Rebuild
Keane has to be moved on.
It’s been seven years of rubbish and him getting worse.
A 4th choice centre half needs to be reliable to come in, play about 10 games and be solid enough.
Keane isn’t reliable. Our record in the team shows that.
Just let him go. It’s the best for everyone.

Re: The Rebuild
He played 13 games last season and just under half the goals we conceded in the entire season came when he was on the pitch.
The city game should have really told moyes everything he needs to know about him.
