I'd go as far as saying I want Tete to cover for O'Brien for 10-15 games a season. (The ones O'Brien is playing centre half for)AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 22, 2025 3:21 pm Fulham fans seem a bit gutted about him leaving. Great defensively, good crosser but is quite injury prone so not someone who can be relied upon for a whole season.
I think the last bit is less of an issue than it might be in other positions tbh, we need to give O'Brien minutes even if it's at RB so if he needs to cover for Tete 10-15 games next season that's absolutely fine.
Kenny Tete

Decent, solid signing. Much rather this than topping up Kyle Walker's pension fund and CSA payments.

Re: Kenny Tete
Apparently Fulham wanted him to stay and re-sign.
Feels like a very Moyes signing. Excellent defensively, really good physically with a sprinkling of decent quality going forward.
He even had the nerve to tackle Ndiaye twice last season -

Yeah, rock solid.
Gotta save the actual money to splash on a winger, centre forward, and hopefully also a midfield playmaker.

Re: Kenny Tete
It's interesting that we've probably got the 2 best one v one full backs in the league and the 2 best at heading away crosses.
We're going to be extremely hard to break down next season!

Re: Kenny Tete
Lots of Fulham fans saying that he is a little injury prone but unbelievably consistent, pretty much their most consistent player who very very rarely has a bad game.
Unless you get a superstar full back who can do it all, then that’s about as good as it gets for us.

Re: Kenny Tete
When fully fit, that’s an outstanding defensive back four.
We might still go for a more attacking left back too. Moyes does like an imbalanced formation where one fullback is primarily defensive and the other has more license to get forward.

Re: Kenny Tete
Either way we need some sort of LB other than Mykolenko. No one else can play there now with Young gone.
Would be nice to have a young-ish attacking LB in the squad who could hopefully displace Mykolenko.

Re: Kenny Tete
Solid, low cost signing but he missed 75 games through injury at Fulham so it's a valid concern. Still think Coleman will sign for one more year and we'll loan out Patterson three seasons too late so we 'should' have plenty cover but with Coleman's and Tete's injuries we might see JOB at right back quite a bit.Gary1878 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 22, 2025 5:24 pm Lots of Fulham fans saying that he is a little injury prone but unbelievably consistent, pretty much their most consistent player who very very rarely has a bad game.

Re: Kenny Tete
I can see Patterson going back to rangers as part of a deal for one of the 2 players we are linked with or just on loan

Re: Kenny Tete
We are best loaning Patterson to 1 of the favorites in the championship and hope they get promoted and buy him. Think we've missed the boat on him ever being good enough so we need to somehow get some money back for him.

Re: Kenny Tete
Could be a good signing if he stays fit, it feels to me that Patterson is not really part of the future of Everton so if we can get a good move for him either in the Championship or maybe even a Serie A club considering how successful some Scots have done over there in the last few years

Re: Kenny Tete
Could be a load of shite from Goodison News which a take with a massive pinch of salt that Moyes has stopped it because of his injury record hope its not true.
Re: Kenny Tete
Sounds like bollocks as we'd have not got this far in to a deal without Moyes already being aware of this and not seeing it as an issue.Evertonian418 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:34 am Could be a load of shite from Goodison News which a take with a massive pinch of salt that Moyes has stopped it because of his injury record hope its not true.
Only way this falls through for something like that would be if he failed a medical but there's been nothing anywhere to suggest he's at that stage of things.
