Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
If he hadn't had all those injuries he'd be a good shout for the likes of Spurs, Chelsea etc as a backup, but he'd only ever have been that, he's not good enough with the ball at his feet to make it higher as a starter.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
AS Roma as Abraham’s replacement makes sense in terms of style of player. Would be great for him too I think.
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Funny how people have different views of him. Only way he gets European football is if he goes to Scotland imo.
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
I think he did have a chance to get a big move before the injury.
The word was arsenal were ready to put a bid in for him.
He was on fire for Carlo and started the next season in the same form then the injury hit and he hasn’t been the same since.
Feel like he’s struggling to come to terms with that and has overvalued himself massively.
I don’t see him having much of a future at a high level.
Missing a pre season whilst he looks for a club won’t be good for him.
He’s done unfortunately. Doesn’t have the quality to play at 70%, protect his body and still do the business like somebody like Louis Saha did.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
The majority of fans on the forums of all 3 prompted sides are horrified they might sign him while people on here are talking about roma arsenal and utd. I just don't see how he gets a big contract or a good team. The issue isn't the injuries you might risk that. The issue for me is he's become the worst finisher in Europe these last couple of years. Be absolutely amazed if roma signed him.
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
You don't watch enough football to substantiate this claim you keep peddling, I can absolutely guarantee. Absolute hyperbole, repeated ad nauseam.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 10:33 am The issue for me is he's become the worst finisher in Europe these last couple of years.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Xg vs actual goals with a minimum number of games has him as the worst finisher (I assume strikers only) in the top 5 leagues in Europe. Obviously there's more to it than that really. So shall we just say 1 of the worst finishers in Europe to be fair
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
For a striker he definitely is one of the worst finishers in Europe's top 5 leagues, no doubt about it. Fitting that his last act at Goodison was to miss a one on one.
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Many have said it but he doesn’t have that finishing instinct for the top level. Combine that with his injury record and it’s very difficult to offer him any sort of decent contract.
We will get a club, possibly in the PL. But he will need to compromise on the contract. And it won’t be as a starter.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Strange that there’s no farewell and thank you on the OS as there was for other departing players ?
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
More bothered about the quality of the replacement than the quality of the striker who ran down his contract. Nice lad and good luck to him but I am about ready for a change so that a 1 on 1 is no longer an opportunity to go put the kettle on.
