Let's just say I am getting flap-curious.

Nicolás Tagliafico is on the cusp of a new phase in his career, with the Premier League the most likely destination. The Argentine international has finalized his contract with Olympique Lyonnais and becomes one of the most attractive players on the free-agent market. At 32 years old, the left-back maintains a high competitive level, and several British clubs have already focused on his situation, seeing him as a reliable option to reinforce their left flank.

Nicolás Tagliafico, very close to Everton

With a track record packed with big European nights and a trophy cabinet that includes the World Cup, Tagliafico continues to generate interest in top-flight leagues. His ability to provide defensive solidity, his ability to join the attack with skill, and his consistency on the pitch make him a highly attractive option for teams looking for balance in both phases of the game. Furthermore, his leadership and experience could be a differentiator in a league as demanding as the English championship.

Within that group of interested parties, Everton has positioned itself strongly. The Goodison Park side, aware of the urgent need to strengthen its left flank, highly values the arrival of a proven player who is free to transfer. Negotiations between both parties are progressing, and it is not ruled out that a deal could be finalized in the coming days, provided that no more compelling offers emerge from other destinations in the English league.

Tagliafico, for his part, is seriously considering continuing his career in a league that has always attracted him. After spells in Argentina, the Netherlands, and France, a move to England could represent a new challenge in his career. The Premier League awaits, and Everton is willing to make a strong bid for his signing.

It’s early days tbf so we might get a few more in before preseason starts but it’s a symptom of where we are in the pecking order. No European football and we’re trying to get value so won’t be offering crazy wages and fees. The Barry deal looks to be going through because we’re paying a premium for potential but I doubt there will be a lot of deals like this one. It all depends on the budget but we’re not spending 30m+ on 3 more players and that’s the minimum of 1st teamers we need. RB, RW, CM

Fuck me, I look like the back end of a bus, but I could interpret for Alcaraz and wouldn't cost £7m over 3 seasons!

If we resign Gana and sign up Barry, I will be quite happy with our early transfer activity so far.

Lots of work to be done but that would be good progress.

Branthwaite signing a big new contract is a huge bonus.

On the face of it I think this is a great move for us but I can’t help but wonder why no-one bigger than 17th place and a promoted team in Spain are interested. He is 32 I suppose. I think we have the edge in this one anyway as we can pretty much guarantee he’ll start ahead of Mykolenko and offer better wages.
