My worry is that's what we want from Charlie and maybe even Ndiaye. I feel like we're getting linked with lots of players who all want to play in roughly the same spaces.

Although with our squad depth I suppose that's probably necessary.

Neither of them get played in the 10 do they?

I'd like to see Ndiaye used as a second striker, but I don't think that's what Moyes sees.

Charly we'll see LW RW bits and bobs but I don't think he'll nail a position for Moyes personally.

Yeah, I like Charli but I don’t see him as anything more than a sub for DM.
El Kel however would cause mayhem for the opposition as a 10.

Would love a Grealish loan where City eat a fuck ton of his wage just to get him out.

So far the rebuild is disappointing especially when teams like the shite are spending nearly 200 million. I didn't expect signings on the scale of them but Moyes looks like he's going to America with a very threadbare squad. TFG are putting a lot of people in place behind the scenes which is understandable considering how bad Everton have been run over the last 20 years and I'm sure things will happen eventually but its beginning to get a bit frustrating when the highlight of the week is a back up keeper.

Yeah, disappointed myself.

Feels like we’re already left behind a bit with not getting players in for America.

It’s understandable with all the change that’s happening. I just think maybe we should have kept thellwell in for another year to make the process smoother.

Feels a bit scattergun.

The fact we put a deal in for tete off the back of his agent offering him around only for him to sign for Fulham isn’t a great sign.

Doesn’t seem to be a coherent plan at the moment.

Moyes knows the market, he knows there’s value when you wait but we really needed bodies in quickly this summer.

Totally disagree lads, the speed of getting them in isn't our priority. Getting the right players in is.

Ideally early yeah so we get off to a good start, but I don't want the club saddled with mediocre players on wedge, for the sake of a few points. We've got a bit of money but we're doing it differently this time which I'm pleased about.

Like it or not, we are closer to the bottom of the food chain for player recruitment.

At present, we don't offer european football and therefore are competing with another ten odd premier league clubs for similar players.

Put yourself in the position, your seeking a career move and the employer can't offer you the top branded tools to work with but can offer you a seat in there shiney new offices just built on a reasonable wage.

I'm like nah, go to the employer that'll show me the money and the best resources available, for quicker progression to where I want to get to.

Most of our business is likely to be conducted nearer the end of the window with loans and frees.

All good points but it would awful having a state of the art ground and fighting at the bottom of the league again after all the hype.

I think ultimately the outcome will give us the final grading and probably colour how we see the summer in retro.

There is in my opinion a stronger argument to say we have had a poor window so far against what we need Vs the idea that we're being methodical and making the right choices - the latter feels like blind faith and the kind of stuff we've said about moshiri, Steve Walsh, Brands etc. before.

I'd rather we take our time than waste another window chasing Willy Gnonto.

There was a list somewhere to what all the clubs have done so far , we are definitely behind a lot of clubs whom I think are below us in the peaking order. Just hope we have our targets and they come to bare fruit sooner than later , or at least have alternatives. Like as above don't spend all summer after one player Gnonto, Giroud etc .

For me it feels just the same as it has for years in a lot of ways. The only time it hasn't in recent years were those early Moshiri days when we were throwing cash around to force deals over the line early and we had the benefit of a decent reputation at the nicer end of the table.

Most of the time, the thing that moves deals over the line fast is paying over the odds and/or have the player really want to join because we're offering them a significant upgrade in their current playing situation.

The only other thing that moves deals to completion is the window coming to a close and it's where most of our deals get done because we're not offering either of the above a lot of the time.

Chances are we start the season looking fairly similar to what we are now. I wish the PL still had the window close before the season starts as it is another of those things that benefits the bigger teams as most likely they'll do a lot of their business earlier. That said, I do think we'd have been better off keeping Thelwell in for another year or so as we had a lot of transitions going on this season and I think some continuity would've been helpful.

Hard not to be disappointed with the business done so far though with the gaps in the squad, while at the same time not being super surprising.
