What are you expecting from 2025/26
Bit of a simple one, Blues...
After the rebuild threads, transfer chat, and everything swirling around Bramley Moore — what are you realistically expecting this season?
Survival again? Top half push? Cup run?
Personally, I’d settle for solid mid-table, a bit of identity on the pitch, and the new signings actually playing with some fire. I know we’ve said “fresh start” for the last 3 seasons, but something does feel a bit different this summer (maybe that's just blind hope).
Also — what player are you personally backing to have a breakthrough year? For me, it’s got to be Branthwaite again, assuming we hold on to him.
Curious what the room thinks. UTFT.

Top 10 minimum for me.
We've had back to back seasons of 48 points. A lot depends on the correct signings but there isn't a reason why we can't aim for around 55 points which should be top half.

Survival
There’ll be a bigger group at the bottom but we’ll be in there still, and the three coming up might actually be able to compete a bit more

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
I think the promoted teams will be much better than last year's. So harder to get points from those clubs this year.
That may be countered by about 9 teams will be distracted by European football.
Despite the slow start to the window I am confident a whole season of Moyes will keep us away from relegation worries.
Points wise I'm expecting mid fifties.
As usual the cups depend on who and when we draw certain teams.

Some proper variety of optimism and realism in here already
Cozzie — agreed, 55 points should absolutely be the target if we can stay fit and not implode by November.
Cereal Killer — I get that too. This league doesn’t forgive anyone, especially not us.
MayorFarnham — good shout on the European distractions. Moyes-ball might not be pretty but it’s usually steady.
Shogun — lol. That’s the safest prediction tbh.
My take? If we can avoid that usual winter death spiral and pick up some actual home form, we’ll be alright. But yeah… it’s Everton, so pain always lingers.

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
Really hinges on recruitment for me this.
We absolutely should be aiming for comfortable top half - but as the squad currently stands, we’re probably bottom half and a bit of a fight on our hands to stay out of trouble.
I’m still confident we’ll get the players in we need, even if not ideally timed.
I’ll remain glass half full on that for now and assume we strengthen. Should that be the case - top half and near, if not ultimately in the lower European spaces.

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
We still need 3 first teamers at a minimum so I can’t really say but with the current squad we’d struggle. Mostly due to numbers and lack of wide options. I still think we’d be safe though. We’ll make signings but no idea which ones yet
Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
Remember the days when there always seemed to be a home game where we'd pump Sunderland or West Ham? I want one of those.

I agree with three. Three absolute first eleven starters, that make a difference would be huge.Bornblue88 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 4:50 pm We still need 3 first teamers at a minimum so I can’t really say but with the current squad we’d struggle. Then another three or four decent squad players, maybe a mixture of older players on loan that can be trusted upon and a couple with options that have a higher ceiling.
The first three is hugely important though and it, for me is a RW of note, a statement CM and quite possibly another striker
Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
As things stand all im anticipating is frustration and disappointment.
Get a CM and a winger in, and cover for the FB positions then it all changes though

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
Maybe some improvement on 48 points. Hopefully never I'm any danger of relegation. Improved financials and squad to take us into the following season
Think saying top 10 minimum or a largish number of points minimum is a bit dangerous. We've no real right to expect that. It's possible but shouldn't be a minimum requirement
Think it's more about staying safe and feeling the club as a whole has progressed
I don't think the 3 that have come up are going to be very good. Not sure why there's any expecting they are gonna be significantly better than the 6 from the previous 2 years
