Where does that impression come from?Evertonian418 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 1:29 pm Yes it will be all about Jack not the other 10 players on the pitch.
He’s always struck me as a terrific team player. His game is all about drawing in defenders and evading pressure to create space for his teammates. He also wins a ton of fouls in good positions.
Standout player but he’s never played like it’s all about him, even as a teenager with Villa.

Re: Jack Grealish
Can't believe there's even any debate about signing Grealish, if the finances aren't ridiculous, then it's a no brainer.
He walks in to most teams in the league and will improve us no end, so what if it's only for a year. He's a point to prove and will be desperate to play at the World Cup, would be our most exciting signing since Lukaku maybe?
I think he'd relish being the main man in our team, not that he's anything other than a complete team player.

Doesn't come across as an egotist to me, and he's not a particularly selfish player with the ball, he's just elite at keeping it.

But most exciting has to be James.

Re: Jack Grealish
I think if anything it would be good if all the focus is on him as it lets the rest of the team just get on with their job
As it is I think he is actually a really good team player anyway, as well as being super talented
I really hope we get him

Re: Jack Grealish
I’ve seen him compared to Dele.
He’s older than he is and is at Man City and still getting games for England.
His career hasn’t nosedived. He’s just been cast aside by a manager who’s done the same to some of the best players we’ve ever seen. Eto and Zlatan for example.
He likes a party and a drink but I’m not sure it’s ever impacted his career.
Can’t say I’ve ever watched him and thought he’s not fit or he’s not interested anymore. Was more the manager is stifling the way he wants to play.
As long as his body can cope with going from a bit part player to first eleven every week he’d be a great signing.
Other than the odd video going round of him on the ale I don’t see him being a problem at all.
If he is, it’s £12m that we can just disregard and he wouldn’t be a burden like dele and James were.
Well worth the risk.
Do fear with it hitting the press that we’re in talks and figures being thrown about of what it will take to sign him that he ends up elsewhere.

Re: Jack Grealish
Great post spot on. I also think with the cost some people look at the whole amount and it seems like a lot. But if you look at Harrison lindstrom etc. we paid their wages and maybe loan fee as well. So even though it was obviously a lot less someone like grealish will make a much bigger impactTheRam wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 3:27 pm I’ve seen him compared to Dele.

Having Grealish here would instantly make our team 76.95% more interesting to watch. I did the math.

Could he be the difference between us finishing say 14th and 10th? You’d certainly hope so
Thats £12m in prize money?
If we pay £200k a week towards his wages that’s just over £10m?
