PSR is why the prices are this way though.

Way better to sign a young player for big money because they’ll have both smaller wages and (potentially higher) resale value.

Once players hit their prime they want big wages because they’re at their peak and any resale value is always heading downwards.

A miss on somebody like Moise Kean gets you your money back and you don’t pay big wages, a miss on an Andre Gomes and you’re stuck paying big wages to a player who if sold would not go for anything near what you paid for them

Honestly the difference between how the two are viewed on here is madness. £37.5m for 21 year old Hutchinson is crazy but £37.5m for 19 year old Dibling is great business.

Yet when you look they effectively had the same season, one played more minutes. They both are viewed as having gods potential.
Doing X at age 19 is way more impressive than doing X at 21, if at the same level of competition. "Age to level" is the most fundamental element of baseball prospect analysis, which I understand is not apples to apples but still a reasonable enough analogy.

And under Spanish law has to be paid in one lump sum.

So if they don't want to sell.... We have no chance.

I remember when Bayern signed Javi Martinez, the player has to go to la Liga offices and deposit the fee hinself

I’ve been against paying the fee even though I want Dibling but seeing other transfer fees I’m starting to think this is just the market now and we’ll have to over pay to get what we need. I still think they need to bring the price down slightly but we need to get this done. Quickly.

When’s the deadline to register for Mondays game? Partly asking with DCL in mind as he’s not signed yet.

I know we are all spooked that is sods law and an Everton thing that Dom will score , but no preseason at all , they'd be risking an injury giving him any game time. Cup game V Wed should be his first game .

12 noon is the deadline

Now what's the latest Dibling news ,

Just go get him now or Fatawu. When Jacob Ramsey is costing Newcastle £40m it makes me less concerned about spending similar on a young raw but huge potential winger.

Obviously without the 25% sell on mind!

I like Dibling’s potential the most of the group that appears on the move right now (Hutchinson, Ramsey, etc.).

If Southampton cave on the sell-on, I think this gets done rapidly.

Grealish is a perfect mentor on the pitch.

Or Armstrong.

Not sure what Southampton’s needs are but we have a couple of players who could be useful for them this season.
