Re: Wrexham
Not sure how he will fit in with Wrexham's land of the giants approach
Ive heard a little whisper that they are desperate to get rid of the manager as he isnt "big name" enough

I can't see them going for Dyche, although he'd actually be a smart choice.
I reckon they'd go for someone more high profile like Steven Gerrard, tempt him to continue his remarkable managerial career there.

Re: Wrexham
To be fair, they’ve been pretty sensible with their recruitment.
Can’t see them going for gerrard. Think they’ll go for proven championship or some mad foreign dude.

Re: Wrexham
Yeah, a high profile player manager type appointment would be another shout. Great for the documentary and all that. Coady as caretaker seems highly likely as well.
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.
Re: Wrexham
Wouldn't be surprised to see them get Chris Coleman and someone like Ashley Williams as assistant to properly tap in to the Welsh vibe

Re: Wrexham
Are we all sick of them now? Was watching the series and cheering them on for thev1st 2 or 3 seasons. Ultimately though they are just another 1 of the fortunate few who's competition can't really compete with them
Are the viewing figures still what they were? You'd imagine with less of us cheering their story there's less watching too. Also what even is the story if they get stuck in the championship for multiple years. Feel like it might be coming to somewhat of a natural end

Re: Wrexham
I think there's scope for McElhenney and Reynolds to stage a massive falling out to gain a few figures and then reunite a couple of seasons later in an Oasis style reunion and reminisce about the good old days when they scraped against the odds to get out of the National League with a budget roughly the same size as the other 23 clubs combined.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 12:54 pm Are we all sick of them now? Re: Wrexham
I think the owners still seem decent. It's mostly the media love-in that turns people off and obviously bandwagoners.
I've said it a few teams, but it'll be interesting to see what happens when things start going wrong. If they're hovering around the relegation zone this season then will they stick with the manager or get rid of him? If they bring a new manager in and he's crap then will fans start to turn on them? If they get relegated will that open up a period of stagnation?

Re: Wrexham
McElhenney is a likeable person, so I'm liking seeing Wrexham do well, plus it's good for the area after tough times. As long as they don't impact us I'm not bothered.
