Why wouldn't someone choose forest over us right now?Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 9:04 am Go and get the lad from Coventry he has a high ceiling assist machine and quick can’t believe we couldn’t get luiz ahead of forest
Re: The Rebuild
Luiz isn’t what we need.
Glad that one’s gone.
Get brownhill in asap as an improvement on Tim then get a horrible grock to sit infront of the back four.
Having a three of big grock, Gana and KDH with garner and brownhill on the bench makes it look a lot better.

Re: The Rebuild
Same issues need addressing that have done for ages
A starting right back
A player who’s natural position is right hand side of midfield
A defensive centre mid
A back up left back
For that last one we will take a utility player , doesn’t need to be expensive
No one of proven prem and international quality wants to come here - personally think it’s time to take a risk on a Fellows/Hackney - both young and relatively low fee would secure
Sign those 2 on a permanent and maybe a couple of loans for the DM and utility man.
But firstly I would like us to get that starting right back. Worrying how few links there seems to be
Did we just give up after the Tete thing?!

Europe (and I don’t mean The Final Countdown)
And the forest owner might have the player’s family kidnapped

Re: The Rebuild
Forest will fall apart as well their owner is a lunatic lots of questions over where his money came from whatever our transfer ideas are this season it isn’t working going around throwing bids at players we could never get is stupid

Re: The Rebuild
Hard to know which way it wil go this year. For sure som squad-issues and we do need up to 5 more players.
Main problem is this lack of pace in our team. Dewsbury-Hall and Alcaraz is too slow to dominate a team like Leeds. Our striking options also too slow. Doesnt look like we will be able to score many goals this year either.
Everton will probably have to wait for deadline-day to get our targets as it seems like all our targets are hoping for a better option than Everton. Looks like Douglas Luiz has opted for Forest - too bad, we would have needed him.
At then end I do think Moyes will manage to keep us safe from a relegation battle but it will be a huge challenge.

Re: The Rebuild
Everton's capacity to squad build is atrocious.
At this point it feels like it's culturally engrained at the club to neglect positions of long-standing priority,
to always insist on aiming for players who are past it/expensive/no resale value,
to aim for young players who not ready e.g. Kean, Chermiti, Vlasic,
to recruit players who're a terrible fit for the system e.g. Maupay
Squad building is literally the most important part of modern football and it feel like we're terrible at it but we just get away with with it because we have just about enough resources that our 2/10 successful signings can cobble enough quality together to stop us getting relegated

Re: The Rebuild
At least the start of the Moshiri era was exciting, wtf is this?!
Absolutely nothing to suggest we’ll be anything other than making up the numbers for the foreseeable.

Re: The Rebuild
Club was cheered on for not paying Doucoure, Young, and DCL money they wanted and yet all would have started last night and made us better.
We are weaker now than at the end of last season. Barry maybe ends up being a bit hit, at least he should have more availability than DCL so that is ok.
As others have said, to not go out and get a RB, pacy RW, and CM is crazy.
It's pathetic, and makes me worried for the season ahead. Grealish brings a ton of talent, KDH probably improves us on the ball but we need pace the stretch defences and power to win second balls that bounce of Betos shins.
I also don't think we have the money for Dibling, and a starting RB, starting DM.
We're talking probably close to £100m more in spending with no outgoings. Maybe we do it but it probably guarantees a big sale like Branthwaite right after the season ends before the fiscal year closes.

Re: The Rebuild
I wonder if not selling Branthwaite could turn out to be a mistake, not the injury, but for the money we would have gotten for him would have enabled us to sign more players. It was widely reported we had £50m to £100m to spend this summer, going on that if true then we have £25m to £35m left. As Cantoffee said that wont get us the 3 starters we need.
