Re: The Rebuild
Used to be spurs nipping in for our targets and now we’ve sunk so low that forest are now snatching our targets. What a club.
Re: The Rebuild
Been happening since they got promoted and we were maxed out under PSR (with Moshiri having basically no cash).Bob Sacamano wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 7:44 pm Used to be spurs nipping in for our targets and now we’ve sunk so low that forest are now snatching our targets. What a club.
We’d 100% have signed at least one of Gibbs-White, Elanga, or Hudson-Odoi under better circumstances.

Re: The Rebuild
We've had good times.
I'll really start to worry if it becomes Wolves doing the snatching.

Re: The Rebuild
I’m going to guess:
Dibling for too much
RB loan (Cash, Maitland-Niles, etc.)
Brownhill on a free
When the dust settles.
Not great but could be worse. New right hand side, don’t have to play Tim, get a true left back fit and the team is now properly functional.

Re: The Rebuild
Yeah, probably.
Given the cliff our options fall off of after O’Brien, that still makes him an asset.
Patterson can’t defend and was beaten for pace by Max Kilman multiple times.
Coleman may never be able to play more than a half of football again.
James Garner is bizarrely important to our midfield,

Re: The Rebuild
See Chelsea are looking to offload Chilwell.
Not the main priority, but wouldn't be averse to a loan as actual cover at LB, freeing up Garner for CM.

Re: The Rebuild
If you’re wondering why it’s been so hard to shop in our price range, it’s partly fucking Chelsea’s fault.
Paying £20m-£30m fees to rent every youngish talent on the move for a year or two while they evaluate, keeping their favorites, shipping out the rest for about the same they paid.
I don’t know how you legislate for it but it’s horrible for the next tier of teams who want those players to actually play right away.

Sign whoever you want from Chelsea, as long as it is one of the one million unbelievable Cobham graduates they produce (/ pinch from other clubs at 15), and not the over-priced shite they've bought. That's my only rule
Re: The Rebuild
I will also say that it frustrates me to see Sander Berge (should’ve signed instead of Gomes) and Ibrahim Sangare (should’ve signed instead of one of Allan or Doucoure) playing important roles for decent PL teams. Our shortsightedness keeps costing us.
Aside from whatever likely disaster happens at RB, the biggest failure of this window will be not targeting a young powerhouse DM to play with and/or eventually replace Gana.
As someone who likes KDH, he was not the midfield profile we needed most.
