This ballot stuff is no fairer than the first come first serve window from last season. Only difference is the club control it rather than yourself. If the Ballot is never weighted towards those previously unsuccessful then it's not remotely fair.

Only difference is now you have to wait all day checking your emails, bank account and Eticketing account just to find out if you've got a ticket or not.

Its really fucking shit.

Honesty takes any shine away.

It isn't fairer whatsoever. Its shit.

The way the club has been the last 2 months have really made me pissed off. Pricks.

Without banging on and repeating the same point, I understand the ballot scheme and as someone who is at work at 10am on a Tuesday and who needs to buy two together (as taking a junior) being able to apply that evening is actually helpful. I also understand that demand outstrips supply comfortably.

The problem as we could all see from the start is if it is a true, unweighted ballot then someone could succeed 19 times and someone could fail 19 times and that is an absurd situation when you have both spent £60 for the privilege.

A way it could be done is like you get in some NFL fantasy leagues. At the start of the season youre allocated say 200 points in Forever Blue, and 500 points for Blue+. You can then use these points when applying for tickets, with the more you use the more chance you have. So if there's a game you definitely want to go to you could in theory use all 500 points on it and guarantee your ticket. If its a 'I'd like to go but not really arsed' then you just chuck 25 at it or something?

I still don't mind the ballot, I can understand why they've done it, it's the fact no ballot was mentioned until after most people had paid for membership and only said you'd get priority access to tickets.

There was always going to be high demand for early games but I hope the club does the decent thing and if the ticket ballot never goes to the second ballot by the end of the season they should refund everyone their £35 and anyone that paid for Forever+ and applied for a ticket but didn't get one. It would be a small amount to the club but a decent gesture for what has been quite a misleading set up.

Don't get me wrong, the 10am Tuesday rush to try and click on any seat available was crap too. It just feels like we've gone from one bad system to another bad system even ignoring all the teething problems on the admin side.

I don't see what's so hard about "You were unsuccessful in the first ballot, so now you're going to have 2 entries in the second ballot. If you're unsuccessful in the second ballot then you will have 3 entries in the third ballot and so on."

The fact two people can buy a membership each, enter the same ballots and one person can be successful twice, another can be unsuccessful twice, and yet they still have the same chance of getting a ticket for the 3rd match is just infuriating.

100%. It surely couldn't be that hard to prioritise those with most consecutive unsuccessful applications. Once you are successful, your priority goes back to normal.

It might stop people getting a run of games but it also stops some poor sod never seeing us kick a ball.

Even assuming it is oversubscribed by 100% on average, the chances of missing the first 5 from 5 is about 3%, but the chances of going obviously improve.

By the same token not many are going every week.

This is the bit that pissed me off. They sold it as next best thing to a season ticket. The fact is you don't even need a ballot if you pay £125 for a ticket.... I guess we're a business now and not a football club per se. I'll give it this season and then fuck them off because prices are only going one way now.

I think the major difference with the ballot is you're more likely to get more people just throwing their hat into the ring, rather than choosing to log in at 9:50.

Then you've got the added dimension of it being over subscribed, so people will just through their name in on the off chance, and will see what happens.

I'm coming up for the Mansfield game - was easy to get as expected, and looking forward to the first night game even if the football will be shite 🙂

Re: Tickets

You'd have to be incredibly unlucky not to get at least 7 tickets across a season in the ballot assuming 25000 in ballot and 10k tickets and assuming its a fair ballot. 40% chance per game.

Whereas last season I was online at 10am on a Tuesday for most games and got precisely zero tickets despite paying for the membership, so can see why the club have done this.
