Struggled but we didn't exactly give him the ball in any decent areas, most passes put him under immediate pressure because of poor decisions by players and Leeds' aggressive press.

Will be a good player for us but for that to happen we need to play a lot better than we did last night.

Was a horrible game for him.

Makeshift team fucked up our distribution from the back and he spent most of the time on the right side of the midfield with Alcaraz (plays with his head down, not helpful for receiving passes) and O’Brien (tries hard, makes the right runs, but not really a right back).

With better distro from the back and better footballers to link up with, I think we’re going to see more bits like the one where he shielded the ball well around the edge of the area and helped play Alcaraz in (after an admittedly terrible free kick attempt).

And if the two conditions above don’t come to pass (better distro, better footballers on the right) then we are 100% in another relegation battle.

I still like him. He is a baller. But based on last night, he’s not going to flourish unless he has the right players around him. Can see some nice interchanges between him, Grealish, Ndiaye and to some extent Gana in the future. But the system and players to put in it is a massive priority.

Yeah got the quality to do well, needs some physicality and calmness on the ball alongside him in the middle.

We are going to need to have some actual possession if he’s going to shine here. I do feel like he can do well for us but not when the team plays like that

"....Kieran Dewsbury-Hall's signing is understood to be more typical of the blueprint they're working to"

Can anyone explain to me why this is good?

He's 27 in a few weeks. Will we ever see that £25m back?

Honestly I think he'll be okay for us, but will be looked back on as. Bolasie / Walcott esque signing.

Ok players who do a job that ultimately hamstrung us badly.

It’s definitely not good as a blueprint.

Like him in a vacuum, worrying if we think we won’t run afoul of PSR quickly this way.

Goes to back to who’s making these decisions

Moyes isn’t here for more than 2 seasons? He wants results now, he doesn’t want players that might develop and have resale value

The other two in the transfer committee aren’t exactly stocked with experience of scouting or proven track record in purchasing players

James Smith will be Director of Scouting and Recruitment but helpfully we’ve decided not to actually appoint him until September

Is it though when we've bid for and been rejected for:

Fofanah
Conceicao
Bakayoko
Kubo
Dibbling

And we've successfully signed:

Barry
Aznou

Maybe we've finally given up on the sub 23 year olds who'd slot in straight away and improve us, started to focus on plan D / E / F which is what everyone said to do and were desperate to happen when plan A - C didn't pan out?

If that's the case it hasn't made up our entire transfer policy, it just means we're now in a situation where the only players that want to come to us that will immediately improve us are in the KDH mold.

Suppose Bolasie/Walcott would probably cost us £40m minimum in this economy

I've been pretty anti-Moyes since he was announced.

But willing to give the absolute maximum benefit of the doubt with the news KDH is the "blueprint" by saying I would have been happy with a RB, DM, RW and ST of that quality a month ago if I knew the plan was to aim for 10th and that would allow us to start peppering the squad with a higher quality next year in a push for Europe.

It pisses me off no end that there is a list of players out there that somehow shows we were "aiming high" when it was clearly obvious not one of the fuckers would want to come here this year

Another who seems a lot more composed when he receives the ball compared to what we have had in the past.
