Tyler Dibling
Re: Tyler Dibling
Didn't we sell Gordon for over £40m 2 and a half years ago?

Re: Tyler Dibling
The trick always seems to be if you're planning on selling to sell early based on potential. The second sale is rarely a huge leap unless the player is really world class Real Madrid kinda level. If he has another season like last one for instance, Gordon would probably be worth in the 50-60 range maybe? Not a huge profit for the selling club.

Re: Tyler Dibling
Agree with this, but has made me realise how important the RB is now.kramer wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 10:18 pm Today, he’s mostly going take the ball off the right back, turn his man, and run with it. Certified dribble monster.
The next phase of development is to generate more shots cutting in on his left and set up his teammates with in swinging crosses and through balls.
A few years in the future he might morph into a central player, somewhere between a 8 and 10 but that’s not where we need a starter today.
He’s definitely not a £40m player as is but the definition of a £40m player has gone haywire anyway. Big talent and would bring us one position closer to having a passable transfer window.
If we want this lad to develop properly he needs the right players around him so that he is not being pulled into other jobs or responsibilities.
Imagine he plays with Jake OB behind him and spends most of the season supporting him so that when he does make a dribble, it’s rarely past the halfway line.
We need someone solid behind him that he can kick on from or we’ll fuck this lad up properly.

Possibly looking to spend some of their Eze money if that goes through

Re: Tyler Dibling
Would Palace be a bigger draw than us? I know they've got the Conference League but I'm not sure that'd be enough to convince someone join them over us.

19 year old, first time away from home, much nearer to home ? Probably not but Who knows ? I’m not trying to burst anyone’s bubble but it’s out there.

Re: Tyler Dibling
This has totally got those “sources” as either Southampton or players agent vibes, talking up where we are at to stir the others to action and get a price war going
I’d rather have heard nothing, feels
Like a swoop by palace or spurs now, whereas id written it off in my head up to now

It’s some kind of law that everything must be done is slow fucking motion at everton.
In the real world there’s no reason whatsoever it can’t be done today

Re: Tyler Dibling
I hit the south of London and pulled up to the lights
He threw that truck door open and ran off into the night.
I now I can't help thinking, as he walks the streets of Croydon, he's in a bigger shithole than the one he was avoidin'.

Re: Tyler Dibling
If we buy him for say 45m, on a 5 year deal, it’s 9mill a year amortisationOldEnglandToffee wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 10:02 pm We really don’t. He can be decent and patchy now. We need to stay up and keep making this type of signing for the next few years and hope that most of them either make the grade for us or get sold on for a profit.
Question for someone who understands this stuff more. In terms of PSR if we sell him in say 3 years time how much do we need to sell him for for it to have been a good buy
So after 3 years as long as we sell for 20mill plus it’s a profit
That then falls into question the % of profit clause for Southampton. Will it be % of the number achieved over the original purchase price, or will it be the % of the profit post amortisation. We probably won’t know but I suspect the former.
Re: Tyler Dibling
Obvs if you sell at 3 years for say 60 million, you will book a 42million profit and pay 20% on that in the latter example, so 8.4mill to Southampton.
In the former case you’d pay only 3mill to southampton

It's not a profit if we buy for 45 and sell for 20. That's a loss.fxceltic wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 7:36 am If we buy him for say 45m, on a 5 year deal, it’s 9mill a year amortisation
