Hasn't looked after himself and will have a big drop off at some point.

If we could get another loan then sign him on a free then I'd be more up for it. He could always drop back in to an 8 once he loses his pace (not that he's a pacey player to begin with) but I'd question his durability as he gets the wrong side of 30.

Probably a James situation for me, enjoy the fuck out of a year watching him be head and shoulders above the rest of the team and then be left with fond memories before anything can sour.
They aren't ever getting 50m for him. 30(ish) last year of his contract, don't want him, on mad money. They are paying him this year not to play for them. They doesn't suddenly become someone pays them 50m next year. Least not unless he puts up 15 goals and 15 assists

Exactly, there will be a negotiation. Think he's more likely to leave on a free than on 50M.

Not too fussed with the goals but he's on course for 59 assists at current per 90!

Doesn't matter tbh as I wouldn't pay £30m for him either, probably wouldn't even pay £20m.

It's not what he does this season, it's someone on big money who may or may not suddenly be always injured and unavailable. Give someone like that a 3-4 year deal on top wages and we just hamstring ourselves all over again.

But anyway probably taking the shine off him being here and making a big impact today so will forget all that and just be happy he's here and doing good things. I wanted him, felt we'd get him and made up he's here

30ish age not 30m. He's probably going on a free. Think we should have asked for him for nothing this window.

I’m happy for Moyes that after years of grinding small budgets to find ways to score goals without an elite chance creator, he can now tell everyone to just pass it to Jack and kick his feet up a bit.

Well earned.

We've done that before, but any player can suffer injuries..we've had them before too 🤔
I just think he'll take us forward and will be the new Hames for us. I can see him, Ndiaye and Dibbling being very exciting, but we need a finisher

Just enjoy the loan spell, see how he does and how the land lies next summer and go from there. Too many variables to consider before then.

For all the criticism of what his time under Pep has done, it was actually some of the key abilities he's developed while at City that made such a difference yesterday.

Namely his ability to hold the ball in wide positions, stand the defender up, occupy 2/3 defenders and then the release the pass to the runner in space. He's been doing that for years at City, with much better players obviously.

The other obvious thing is just holding the ball high up the pitch under pressure when you're ahead, winning fouls, wasting time, helping team-mates get up the pitch etc. Again, he's been doing that in his sleep at City.

Even if we never get the Villa Grealish back where he dribbles through people in the centre of the pitch and creates direct opportunities, the City Grealish is more than good enough to improve us massively, especially if we can get Mykolenko/Aznou bombing past him regularly and either receiving the ball in space, or taking men away from Grealish.

He’ll sign if he is a success here.

There’s a clear strategy of investing in younger players so while they keep going that I have no issue in being a bit daft every now and then.

Biggest thing today was how fitness looked. Lasted the full game and seemed the fittest player on the pitch.

This isn’t James or rooney where everyone else has to do the running for them. He’s at the top of his game, just needs to find that extra edge he’s been missing.

Brilliant assist for the first goal.

The second one comes because he was doubled up on which left the space for garner to run into.

Also think it’s a total myth that he hasn’t looked after himself

Cos we see him bevvied after City had won the league or champions league - people have this picture that he’s got a beer gut and sinks 12 pints of Stella on weeknights and has a sharing kebab to himself

Fella is absolutely ripped, super talented. Total joy to watch him yesterday , he’s the main man here
