My opinion on us having the worst midfield in the league hasn’t changed.

Was great to get a win at the weekend but it was a game that could have gone the other way quite easily and I think the new stadium bounce went a long way.

Just one physical DM will do and an ok right back.

Without another centre mid I don’t see us doing much this season.
Surely the “we have the worst midfield in the league” is pure hyperbole?

It’s really not that bad. As a 3 the players are good on merit, though you can make a point about structure.

I’d have taken soucek earlier in the window, but not post KDH and Grealish.

Get a youngish DM, but only after we have nailed the fucking RB

Don't think they are 3 good cms tho?

Gana quality but we can't play him every game, and he does need a certain type of player near him to do his best work.

Tim is such an incomplete player he's almost not really an actual starting option if you had real players.

Garner a good steady Eddie swiss army knife, but he's not a good prem level CM, don't think anyone would swap what they gave for him would they?

If 35 year old Idrissa Gueye gets injured, suspended or goes to Africa for a month long competition (Mhmmm) then you'll see just how bad our midfield is.

Yeah, he is everything.

Imagine if we had a sitting version of him.

If we did, we probably wouldn’t need the exocet Gana.

Yeah we need a sitter in midfield, I think with Garner in there it's better as he does that, but we have all desired an upgrade on him for the past 12 months and that hasn't changed.

You're right that on another day we're 2-0 down at half time against Brighton and the game and feel around the club goes a very different way.

It's just that space that Brighton exploited between defence and midfield that made us too easy to play through, and other teams will see that and target it making the issue bigger with each passing game.

Soucek isn't the answer either, he's more of a box to box / crash the box and score goals type of player. I read he did play as a pure 6 under Moyes for one season and wasn't particularly good so it doesn't fill me with much confidence he'd be much of an improvement.

Just need a proper no nonsense DM who reads the game well and breaks up attacks with good positioning and intelligent game reading. I think that would then give the attacking talent we have he opportunity to really shine.

West Ham making a move for Hayden Hackney. Means he'd still be available for transfer from the Championship next summer.

Replacing Gana next year will be as important as replacing <Blank Name> at right back is this year.
