The Rebuild
Re: The Rebuild
If Maitland-Niles has given up on insisting he’s a central midfielder, which it seems he has, it’s him.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 11:56 am According to sky we have agreed on terms with Seville for Patterson to go on loan but want a replacement in first the 3 options according to them are maitland Niles fort at Barca and fisher at Norwich which one of them is the best option
Lyon have had a great start to the season, not sure what the situation is there at the moment.
The other two are closer to Aznou. That is, probably not ready for regular starts at this level.

Re: The Rebuild
Do we need a ready now rb fisher looks so exciting fast great cross surely he would be a better long term fit
Re: The Rebuild
Rocco Reitz, German DM from Borussia Mönchengladbach, is a name tentatively doing the rounds. 23 years old
Re: The Rebuild
Fisher actually started 34 matches last season and looks fairly good in terms of passing and decent at chance creation. Strangely, he has come off the bench in Norwich’s first three matches of this season. Certainly a prospect but not as far away as I initially thought. Much more interested having done a deeper dive.
Fort has only played for Barca and largely off the bench. This would be an entirely new world for him. Looks talented though.
1. Maitland-Niles
2. Fisher
3. Fort

Re: The Rebuild
Incredible defensive numbers, incredible name. You have my attention.
Maybe not so great with the ball and actually looks like he arrives late in the penalty area quite a bit with some decent attacking numbers. So not a pure sitter.
On the smaller side too. Sort of like a Gana understudy with more attacking upside.
Re: The Rebuild
I don't want to be a grammar nazi - but i have just spent ages wondering who the 3rd option was & finding it funny that the guy at Barca's (Fort) first names were Maitland Niles. Thought it was a right coincidence that there is an English bloke playing in France who's surname was Maitland-Niles and is also a RB.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 11:56 am According to sky we have agreed on terms with Seville for Patterson to go on loan but want a replacement in first the 3 options according to them are maitland Niles fort at Barca and fisher at Norwich which one of them is the best option

Re: The Rebuild
Fort feels like Aznar would need work but very talented and high ceiling. Would help Aznar to have his mate here as well and doubles our chances of getting Yamal after he runs his contract down for us
Re: The Rebuild
Fisher came from non-league.
Always intrigued by players with non-traditional career paths. You know they had to put in a ton of work to get where they are which tells you a lot about their habits. Nice to be able to bank on someone working hard to improve in training.
KDH has a bit of that about him. Came through a Championship/PL academy but not the most heralded prospect and didn’t make the first team until he was older than most players making that leap. He’s clearly had to fight for every step up the ladder in his career and he plays like it.
Liking the idea of Fisher more and more.
Edit: Shout out to Iliman, too.
Double Edit: Our last long-term right back had a pretty unique path to the top himself.

Re: The Rebuild
What did we bid for Soucek? Whatever it was, put that money towards getting Mainoo instead, even if its a loan (with an option to buy please)
