The Rebuild
Re: The Rebuild
Imagine when Tyler slots a couple against Villa and Moyes starts googling "false 9" to fit them all in.
Re: The Rebuild
Be great slotting in to CM, but the touted £45m might be a stretch if Spurs and Man U are also keen.

Re: The Rebuild
It seems a lot of clubs are mentioned. Man Utd, Palace, West Ham and Newcastle.
I can't find a concrete source, just the usual low level Twitter rumblings.
Would be a great loan option to buy signing though, still, probably not exactly what we need in our midfield.

Re: The Rebuild
No clue but I’d be surprised if we had anything other than loan options left.MayorFarnham wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 11:23 pm Is there any indication of what we have left to spend?
Re: The Rebuild
Gallagher’s an all-action type. Certainly not like-for-like for Gana but has legit box-to-box skills that could be put to use.
Not the exact profile I’d prefer and I imagine that a few other English clubs would be ahead of us for that one.
Well better than Soucek like.

Re: The Rebuild
Huge money though for a player progile we don't need. I'd prefer a proper 6. If Gana is off you can have Garner play his role (not ideal but better than Iroegbunam) and have someone else sitting.
Actual RB, proper 6, maybe an experience striker to pkay 3rd choice and we're looking at a potential challenge for Europe season.
Personally don't think we've got the dough to do all that and if I had to choose I'm getting a DM all day.

Re: The Rebuild
Gallagher is a quality player but doesn't address a weakness we have, aside from the big drop off when Gana doesn't play.

Re: The Rebuild
Be very disappointed if we don't go out and get a minimum of 2 or 3 more. Right back, midfielder and maybe even a striker
We are close to a very good team with some decent options on the bench too. Be a real shame if we fall short now.
Deals to be made on loans even if there's an obligation to buy

Re: The Rebuild
Why are we strictly after third man run making box crashing goal scoring guys who aren't really midfielders?

Re: The Rebuild
Gallagher would be an excellent Gana replacement, pure box to box midfielder. Is he what we need right now? No.
Next season? Yeah.
Loan with option to buy? Tempting. Doesn't fill the DM gap in the squad but Jimmy Garner's started the season so well that maybe we can get by for a year without replacing him.
Also might be the market we're now working in... Basically who can we get that improves us on loan with an option to buy next summer.

Re: The Rebuild
He'd play and we'd probably like him a lot as he's a frantic ankle biter who gets on the end of stuff, but again he's not a MIDFIELD player.
