He’s fucking gorgeous isn’t he
Jack Grealish
Re: Jack Grealish
Like Shogs said, how the fuck did we end up with Grealish ! To me, this is much bigger than James.
Re: Jack Grealish
It all feels a bit too good to be true at the moment. We got him, he fucking loves it, he's still a player but maybe even more exciting now he's off the leash, and he's working his bollocks off for us.
Just want to enjoy the moment really, we don't really have many like these.

Re: Jack Grealish
He’s at the top of his game and City got rid of him. It doesn’t really make sense but neither does the transfer market at the moment.
He has found his home here and will be loved as long as he is around. He links so well with the players we have. I couldn’t think of many other players that I would rather have in that spot on the left. He’s that good.

Re: Jack Grealish
Had a great start, to the point where numbers wise he may well end up having his best ever season.
It's his influence though as well that's so impressive, I only caught parts of the game today as was at my parents house trying to watch on a bad phone stream, but it's almost like everyone else wants to raise their game and get involved in the fun from what I saw.
Early days, he's not had time yet to experience the Everton curse of a blown out knee or some random back / pelvic injury that can't be fixed, so I'm not going to get carried away. One game at a time, that's how I'm going to take it.

Re: Jack Grealish
Villa looking at nearly £50m for the vastly overrated Paqueta.
Market’s gone completely silly. This might look like an incredible option come next summer.

Re: Jack Grealish
I don’t think it’s that big of a deal that we’ve signed him, is it?
I imagine if you asked the majority of football fans where do you think Jack Grealish will end up, most of them would say Everton.
It’s the type of signing we make all the time. Sometimes they come off, sometimes they don’t.

Re: Jack Grealish
Not sure on that one. It was only a few years ago the best team in the world bought him as their main attacking threat, then won the treble.TheRam wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 11:02 pm I don’t think it’s that big of a deal that we’ve signed him, is it?

He's only come to us because the stars aligned basically, he needs to stay in the North West and we're the only option that are in the PL and not a direct rival of City.
The players we've bought in the past that come close have either been on the way up as potential or on their way down losing their physical ability. Kanchelskis is the only other one that's comparable IMO.

Agreed. I thought he was nailed on for Villa. Been away, won it all, lost the love - what’s next if not being a hero at your boyhood club?

Re: Jack Grealish
There was a really good moment yesterday where you can see the influence he’s going to have.
He was dribbling back into our half under pressure running towards Garner who had another Wolves player ready to press him.
Garner (reasonably) dropped deeper to make space to receive the pass, Grealish got fouled then explained to Garner that he wanted him to dart between the two pressure players so Grealish could pass it forward and break the press.
Just a different mindset to anything we’ve had at the team for years

I think you’re right - based on the perception many held (including some on here) that he was maybe not as interested as he once was and was past his best. If the version of Grealish we’re seeing now was playing like this for City I don’t think many would be saying Everton was the place for him.TheRam wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 11:02 pm I don’t think it’s that big of a deal that we’ve signed him, is it?

I don’t believe he was any of those things with City, he never seemed to be that popular with Pep and seemed a bit of a square peg in a round hole there

A mercurial maverick who solves problems.
Pep wants cogs that fit his perfect machine.

It’s not just a different mindset, he’s on a different planet to our whole squad, Ndiaye and Pickford apart.
