Oh really, I never watched him since he went there, just remember his numbers being mad at Lille, was it?

Anyone know why Raskin was dropped at Rangers?

Interesting profile but we have a fairly humble, hardworking squad from top to bottom and I’m wary of anyone who doesn’t fit the mold walking into it at this point.

According to Kris Boyd he's been banished from the ground today, get the impression he's been asking questions of Martin and he didn't like it but I doubt he'd be the first to fall out with him for questioning his style and he won't be the last.

Boyd reckons he was sent to train with the B team when he was at Standard Liege though so there might be an attitude issue there.

Ah. Pass for me then.

I’m actually kind of beaming about all of the top pros we’ve assembled here.

Moyes must be made up that he finally has the resources to not have to take chances on rehabbing questionable personalities with massive talent just to be able to compete.

This makes him sound like a bit of a weapon:

Nicolas Raskin breaks Rangers transfer cover with 'ill disciplined' star in Ibrox exile for Celtic
Mark Pirie

The midfielder was left out of the squad for the showdown with the Hoops by boss Russell Martin

Exiled Nicolas Raskin has offered his support to his Rangers team-mates against Celtic – despite missing out on the derby day showdown.

Russell Martin left the Belgian international out of the squad to face Celtic with reports ramping up that the 24-year-old will be sold before the summer window closes on Monday night.

Both Crystal Palace and Wolves are said to be showing an interest in the midfielder with the clock ticking down as the Premiership side look set for a second big-money windfall this window after Hamza Igamane's transfer to Lille.

Youssef Chermiti and Derek Cornelius are being lined up to follow Bojan Miovski's arrival in at Ibrox – and Raskin could have now played his last game for Rangers.

Ahead of the clash with the Hoops, Raskin took to Instagram to reveal he was not at Ibrox and was watching the game from home.

And he specifically backed his teammates before they faced Celtic, adding a comment to his story: "Come on the team."

Before kick-off, Sky Sports pundit Neil McCann offered an insight on managing Raskin - having worked with him as part of Barry Ferguson's interim management team last term.

He conceded that the midfielder can be "ill disciplined" - but felt he could be managed correctly to benefit the team.

McCann said: "You hear little things, you don't know the exact story unless you're in that area where you are the manager, or the player, or the player's agent.

"I'm surprised Nico is not around it today. If he’s fit he has to play, he’s still Rangers’ best central midfielder.

"I get he can be difficult to deal with, I get it, and opinionated - but I was one of them - but most players who have a willingness to win football games will have opinions.

"Last year, he was difficult. I had run-ins with Nico, because when I was doing shape he would question you - why you are doing it.

"You had to reinforce why you are doing it, and that it's for the betterment of the team.

"And sometimes he was ill-disciplined, in terms of he would get on the ball as if he wanted to dictate the play and he is trying to understand his position.

"What I would say is, four goals last year and plenty of assists - you had to manage him - because you have to understand this, he is one of your best players."

Martin is an even cringier version of Nick Knowles, so I don’t blame him for falling out with him

I reckon if you ask any Rangers fan who they would rather left the club out of Raskin or Martin, Martin would win hands down.

Yeah, I don’t have a problem with that aspect necessarily.

Just don’t think we need to be taking a chance on an SPL player who has form for falling out with management at multiple clubs given how well-constructed the rest of the squad is.

The vibes are immaculate right now, really don’t want us to fuck with them.

You'd have thought any deal would have been part of the Chermitti deal if the two clubs have been talking transfers with each other recently.

Tark will play every game but I can’t see him starting beyond this season. Feels like he has lost something in his game. Maybe it’s just form and he will recover but he hasn’t been good at all in the first 3 games.

I feel like we’ve been here with Tarkowski before and he always finds his form again.

David Moyes is high on the list of managers I trust to find the right defensive partnership with the options we have. He’s also good at getting top performances out of CBs beyond the point where you’d expect them to decline.

Only defensive concern right now is in midfield where we go to bits without Gana and Garner in the team and at fullback where we need more options in the squad.

He had 6 players sat deep in front of him under Dyche, this team asks different questions of him. Love the lad and no immediate concern, but he had to be far less mobile last season.
