We are lucky to off had either of them.
The suggestion of Nev being a level above Pickford is absolutely “butty short” if you ask me but that’s the nature of opinion I guess. Before anyone says it I’m aware no one asked me lol
Nev would struggle in the modern game in my opinion. Being a goalkeeper used to be about the 2 hours on match day. It’s way more than that and Jordan ticks every box, Nev wouldnt
It’s almost romantic to pick Nev over Pickford, how old are the people choosing Nev I wonder
Ultimately though, who cares : )
Why is it romantic?
Southall in many peoples minds, not just us evertonians was the best in the world in that era.
I'm not basing anything on romance.
Those of us lucky to be around at that time know for a fact how good he was, and he was world class.
Again why would he struggle in the modern game?.
You seriously think being a goalkeeper in the 80's was just turning up on a saturday.
I'm guessing you weren't around when he was in his pomp.
Pickford is an outstanding keeper, and your right we are lucky to have him.
And in reality we would probably be in the championship without him over the last few seasons.
Your also right in that it's all about opinions, and yours is that Pickford is better.
I know who i would pick out of the two, as i've stated.
It had nothing to do with romance, just the facts, the main one being he was in my opinion and plenty of others the best in the world.
