This is what makes him so frustrating. You know he has this in him even when he’s failing to the basics right.

Made up that he’s played so well. Moyes probably deserves some credit, he’s definitely a bit of a centre back whisperer. Has coaxed performances out of every reasonably talented CB he’s ever coached.

Really pleased for us and also him that he’s in a good run of form.

Doesn’t mean replacing him with better in the summer was not a good idea or that keeping him on was a master stroke. It was just a lower priority than some other issues we had.

Surely the bar is lower for lesser players not higher??

He was unlucky today not to win it for us. I would have bet my mortgage on him netting one of those chances.

I've never thought he was as bad as some made out. He's certaily had his moments and he has admitted to struggling with anxiety on and off the pitch and even heading the ball following a fractured skull, so he has been through so dark times. But a confident Keane is an asset, his distribution is good and he is always a theat from set pieces. If he continues like this, then it was a great decision to offer him a new contract as the sqaud rebuilds. There might come a time where we look to improve but you could say that for anyone in the squad eventually.

Should have buried that header really shouldn't he?

He's done well at the moment but I'm not allowing it to cloud my judgement.

He's shite and I can't wait until he's out the team.

Wonder if the term, "Hyperbole" existed before Michael Keane started playing football

The problem for Keane is he could play 10 games in a row flawlessly (he's at 7 if you include end of last season), but the moment he does one thing wrong everyone will be jumping on it and calling him bad shite, waste of wages, should never have re-signed him etc etc

It used to be 'two good games doesn't make up for the inevitable mistake', then it became 4 doesn't, now we're at 7... Doesn't really matter what number he gets to because eventually he'll make a mistake, not because he's Keane but because all players do... that won't matter though, it'll be because it's Keane and his history is so embedded in people's minds that people are waiting for the 'see told you so' moment.

It's coming, because every player makes mistakes. Just hope when it happens he gets a little slack due to the performances he's put in lately and that he bounces back quickly from it rather than it leading to more mistakes as is what often happens with him.

Maybe a better manager makes a better player. He's definitely more confident.

People were trying to blame him for mykolenkos fuck up against wolves. Someone even claimed it was his fault just because he makes others panic

To say he doesn't deserve praise for playing well is beyond ridiculous

Why change a long term opinion over five games worth of evidence?

It goes both ways this debate. He has one ok game at the start of the season and people are already going over the top with him.

Tarkowski has been just as good, if not better than Keane but that never gets acknowledged because he’s consistently good, whereas expectations with Keane are on the floor.

He’s played well, and is playing the 4th choice centre back role as he should, but I’d still rather have a proper right back and obrien getting minutes at centre half so am not going to change my mind on the contract.

People should probably just expect that he’s been a disappointment for a long time and it will take a lot for peoples opinions to be changed.

He should have done better with that goal like.

He’s just let the ball travel across his six yard box without doing anything.

Obviously mykolenko is terrible for it but Keane has a role to play.
