Would have had a goal had Armstrong squared it to him so he's getting in the right positions, just needs someone to find him.

Think it's just nice to have a very different option to Beto, see them both getting plenty of starts and offering different things.

It takes time to work out that understanding.

I think this season is going to be a slow burn for him. When he figures out the timing of his runs around his teammates’ deliveries, the chances and goals will come.

Nice to have added a bunch of quality players, now comes the phase where they learn each other’s tendencies and start to function as a proper unit.

Shown some lovely deft touches and link up last night.

As others have said when that understanding comes it should take off

Yep.

Loved the link up and the deft touches.

Think over time he will only improve.

I was expecting him to be much rawer.

Great omen that his movement, touch, and awareness of his teammates is so good already.

Love that we seem to have added some good football brains to a side that hasn’t had enough in recent years.

Seeing his ability to link up, after years of DCL and Beto, feels fresh as fuck.

I’d like to see him take a few shots to see his technique and whether he can actually leather one - fed up of years of strikers who can’t actually hit the ball very hard

Dom had his faults but linking play and holding the ball up were not them. He was superb at that for us.

Yeah, he could hold it up and lay it off, but that's it, just simple passes. Never seen him do a one two, and I've never though wow that was a nice pass from Dom. Not a natural footballer.

Needs to put himself about a lot more when coming on as sub. Beto was shockingly bad today so the position is there to be claimed in situations like today, but he seemed to mainly just jog about not causing any problems for the CBs.

Definitely got talent but got to make more of his minutes if he wants that starting slot.

Has to be the starter.

His first touch and link up play with the midfield get our match winners on the ball in areas where they can make their quality count more often.

Beto’s the raw one. Sort it, Davey.
