Absolutely fine with extending his contract if we genuinely win something or progress into Europe.

Shouldn’t even be a discussion.

I get it’s nice to feel positive and all that but the fanbase is going way too early.

Things could look very different once the fixtures start to change.

He’s here until the end of next season. Unless he achieves something special it should stay that way.

He’s going to be 65 at the end of his deal.

Look at what happened to United when Fergie left. Look what happened to us after Moyes left.
I know it’s way too early to be thinking about extending but I think caution should be in the back of our minds. When you find someone that works you should stick with it. While it’s still going well of course.
If we can put a plan in place for someone to work with him closely with a view to take over that would be my preference

I think the plan might be for Coleman and or Baines to be the successor.

I get it, but we need experience over sentiment to continue at the level we need to. Dunc did OK at first but his flaws showed. He's still not been successful as a manager of the type we need. Carsley has experience but not in the prem. Who ever comes in needs to be a high level performer imo

Yeah someone like Iriola or Glasner over Baines or Coleman every day of the week for me. Decisions like this shouldn't be made on sentimentality.

I hope we act like a modern professional outfit and not take the route of appointing an untested manager because they've played for the club.

Baines or Coleman would be fine - if they went off, managed elsewhere and proved they were up to it. Madness to put someone with no prior experience in charge IMO

They’ve got to get the replacement right when Moyes goes as things can go wrong very quickly if they don’t. Apart from the examples above, you could add West Ham to the list after Moyes left - twice!

Come on.... i get that Moyes works nice with us but ffs, we won nothing, we never won at Anfield, OT, Emirates, Stamford Bridge...we fucked up a semi final and a final...

Fergie won the fucking lot time and time again.

You cant compare haha

Thanks Moyes for stabilising the club when we were desperately in need. Hope we can win a cup in the next two seasons or get back in Europe...but when the contract is over, go and get an up and coming exciting manager like Iraola / Glasner.

Moyes is your set-up guy. Gets things in order and builds a platform for the person who’s going to take us to the next level.

Only ex-staff I would have back in a managerial role would be Ancelotti.

Oh I’d take Iraola in a heartbeat. I wasn’t saying we have to keep Moyes forever, just be cautious cause it can easily go so wrong.
