Today's Football 2025-26
Re: Today's Football 2025-26
It's funny that the ball never ends up back with Pope because he's so bad with it at his feet that Howe won't risk it

No I think the 1 we didn't want was on 400k a weekAllyBlue14 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 18, 2025 8:32 pm Is this the same Rashford people didn't want here because he was finished?

You feel like Pedri and De Jong could keep the ball as long as they want and never risk losing it

Newcastle haven't got enough creativity and guile in the middle of the pitch. Far too cross heavy.

When was this even discussed?AllyBlue14 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 18, 2025 8:32 pm Is this the same Rashford people didn't want here because he was finished?

Feel like Newcastle need to replace at least half that team if they ever want to finish above 5th.
Gordon is getting by off his movement and nothing else. He’s been found out at the top level. You can’t have him as your best attacker and expect to challenge teams like barca.
Is he ever scoring a goal like rashford did tonight?

Re: Today's Football 2025-26
I've never seen a bigger admission of being a weak leader than this.Amorim's reasoning for sticking with his system remains the same.
He feels if he bows to pressure it will undermine him in the eyes of his players.
"If I'm a player and I have a coach that, with a lot of pressure and [people] all around the world, are saying 'you need to change the system', says 'I'm going to change', they will look at me in a different way.
Strong leaders don't draw their authority from ostentatious displays of inflexibility.

Surely a strong leader can recognise his own weakness and work to rectify it??

So instead he just looks arrogant, stubborn and incompetent in the eyes of his players, fair enough
