When it becomes a genuine battle and a fight, they wilt.

Well fair enough, that's exactly what they haven't been able to do in years.

I wonder if Arteta will moan about the refs now? 🤔

He'll probably forget it ever happened.

Still having them for the title.

Four massive points over the last two weeks that.
Big win for them.

They have a chance this year, at least if Liverpool keep playing like they have. Arsenal look like they have the best defence of those teams up there which isn't insignificant.

The ball was knocked past him and it brushed off his toe, didn't seemingly change the direction of the ball then clears out the forward. We see plenty of times fouls given for too much force even without it being violent conduct.

I'm clearly in the minority here, so I'll let it go though.
It appears that it is the rule. Touch it and it's not a pen. You do wonder in terms of fairness it should be though. A tiny touch on the ball that wouldn't stop the striker still getting it maybe shouldn't then excuse the keeper clsttering into him and knocking him over.

He’s terrible.

Will be dropped soon as havertz is back.
Remember watching him for Coventry when we were linked with him and wasn't remotely impressed even for us when we were desperate

His record in the championship is less than 1 in 3 without penalties. His time in Portugal is doing all the heavy lifting. I think he might be a bit rubbish

Yeah, it's probably correct, but when you see that vs some of the handball decisions given one thing seems more worthy of a penalty than the other.

Feels like a lot of things have become unwritten rules and maybe shouldn't be. This being 1. Bloody defenders obstructing a striker over and over so the ball goes out for a goalkick is another i don't like.

There's an evenness to it because it's pretty much universally given that way but they take from the quality of the game

Handballs in the box is a major 1 now. Penalties seem way too harsh a punishment for most of them

Ok, I'm probably being dumb here, but why is that not a penalty?

Striker got to the ball first, it looked like his touch played it to the left, the keeper's touch on the ball was very negligible but the keeper still makes massive contact with the striker and Pope came out kinda recklessly...you can touch the ball and it still be deemed a foul because of the type of contact you then make with a player.

Its gone now and irrelevant to the result, but I was gonna post at the time , I think it's still a pen , for me Vic plays the ball onto Popes toe then gets wiped out. But yeah rule any touch by the keeper and it not a foul.

i agree but having gyokeres in the arsenal side gives them a focal point and sort of makes them a better team allowing the other players saka martinelli eze etc more time space on the ball while the defenders have to worry about gyokeres as a threat
even tho i think he is overated
