I expect us to grow liberally done with this rule at every possibility
Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
It deffo only exists to stop the "small" teams wasting precious seconds on the rare occasions they're winning against the "big" clubs.

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
To go with the new anti-grappling-at-set-pieces rule aka The Tarkowski Proclamation
Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
It’s the bigger teams who are the worst for time wasting these days.
City, Newcastle and arsenal especially.
City even got fined for constantly coming out late for the second half.
Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
But the ones they wanna crackdown on are Pickford lying on the ball while carra goes "arrrrrr"
Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
So after 7 games we're on 11 points... 5 points off top and 3 behind the top 4.
Obviously not expecting us to compete for either but I think that's a pretty good start given our strikers can't score or hold up the ball and Moyes hasn't worked out his best team yet.
If we kept up that points per game over the whole season that'd land us 60 points, so I think despite Moyes' faults as a manager his overall effectiveness far outweighs the tactical and personnel stubbornness.
Probably on for a 9th placed finish I reckon, but could be a little lower although I doubt we'll be below 12th at worst. Potentially 8th if we find the right balance but I think that's probably over optimistic.
It'll be a season of frustration and mediocrity as we fail to capitalise on opportunities to take more points but realistically I think it's too early to be looking at European places and squad imbalances will harm us with any lofty ambitions. Should be a pretty comfortable season overall though if early indications are anything to go by.

Looking at how we’ve been playing I think we’re fortunate to be where we are, a couple of our wins could very easily have gone the other way.
More than happy to be proven wrong but based on what I’ve seen so far, can’t see us finishing any higher than 12th unless we have an exceptional January transfer window

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
Moyes went through many years where we would get a calendar year of really positive results and gain loads of points, followed by a calendar year where we would be shite and couldnt buy a win for love nor money.
So we'd start a season great, tail off after Christmas. Start the following season badly then have a barnstorming end to it.
Looking at last year and this one so far, we could be in for a ropey 2026

Don’t think we have ever been so lucky. Brighton, Palace and Wolves should have had a penalty for 3-3 and an absolute meltdown.

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
On the other side of things we should've definitely beaten Villa and West Ham at home, and if we played Leeds again with our players more settled into the club I'd expect a better result there, so we could easily have another 5-6 points.
Also we have to look outside of just our club and see the wider situation. The entire league is in a state of flux and uncertainty, more than ever. Hardly any of the clubs, even near the top have looked particularly convincing in multiple fixtures. Probably Arsenal, Palace and maybe Bournemouth are the only clubs who have played consistently well so far with a clear identity.
The turnover in players this summer was absolutely insane with many of the clubs signing like 8/9/10 players, including us. The promoted clubs have also started well and been very competitive. I think it's going to take longer than normal for the league to settle down into some sort of clear shape, but I think there probably won't be a huge gap in quality between teams that finish 7th and 14th say.

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
Isn't that just the life of a mid table team? Some games you win by a fine margin and others you lose by one.
We're neither good enough to win all the games we should and not shit enough to lose all the games we should.
