Everton v Spurs

Post

Sun 16:30 on Sky... Clocks go back, so this is essentially a night match.

I think we know the team.

Oh good, not just me then.
I’m expecting a draw unfortunately, Spurs are better away from home. Could do with a convincing win to get the early season optimism going again.

This one feels like a bit of a litmus test to me. Win it and yeah I reckon we'll do ok and have a lovely, pleasant relaxing season. Lose it and I feel like we might be in for a long one - not scared we'll go down or anything, but just languishing around 14th and being pretty miserable most weeks.

I suppose a draw and then I don't know what to think.

They will finish miles above us, and should really beat us no problem. But, they could beat themselves here I think.

Struggle to see, looking down, who we definitely stay ahead of for sure to be honest.

If you're deciding to be negative about it then we definitely finish above Leeds (you know, the team playing Jack Harrison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin every week), Burnley and Wolves. West Ham are also looking horrific. Dyche famously wins loads of matches, so be tough to finish ahead of Forest.

Brighton, Villa, Wolves and Palace this season at home and we're unbeaten with 8/12 points. I reckon we're doing alright. 11/15 if Spurs 'beat themselves'.

Reckon us and spurs have been around par this season.

Both pretty average teams.

Certainly don’t think they’re finishing miles above us.

We’ll be 12th at worse, they’ll be 7th at best.

They’re 12th, we’re 13th in the good old woke XG table.

Yeah can't work out Spurs. Kudus does a lot of good work but rarely shines. Not really having Odobert. Simons is a great idea but has looked poor so far. Johnson doesn't seem to be getting a look in. Neither Richy or Tel really clicking up top. Kolo Muani just getting fit. Madison out. Assume Kulusevski is injured.

Decent attacking options but not quite clicked. Good defensively, hopefully Romero still injured against us.

Grealish v Spence should be good. Hopefully it's Porro because that lad can't defend.

Yeah but realistically like, look at their side.

Maybe they will have an adjustment season but they're miles better than us.

Always used to be a bit of a top 8 bellwether for me, spurs games, until it got too depressing.

We'll be closer this year than most but I don't expect us anywhere near 7th so if that's what they're going to be near then it will shake out a fair distance apart.

I fancy us to stay ahead of Leeds and would quite like them and burnley to be in the mix to go down.

Would like west ham and forest to stay there but that might be too optimistic.

Fulham Newcastle Brentford all surely overtake us. Forest....I just can't see how a side with that level of investment stays where it is, dyche or no dyche.

How do Fulham and Brentford surely overtake us?

We’re better than them.

They're much better away from home.

Think we'll succumb here and lose narrowly
