Couldn’t have signed players we actually needed because at the point in the window where we signed Dibling it was too late.

They massively fucked up and signed this lad because they knew a deal could be done late on in the window when we had nothing else lined up.

No plan for half the players we signed. Just about getting a lot of them in for the sake of it.

The overlap of the signings seems crazy. Alcaraz and KDH. Grealish and Dibbling. Couldn't we have just signed 1 of each.

Like you say it seems like we just bought some good players (with questionable scouting) rather than address positions and attributes we are missing in the squad. Just the very basic plan of raising the floor of the squad by signing decent players. Not worked because they might not be that good and all the problems with the team before the window are still the problems now

I feel the new people (not the owners because they are a little removed from the decisions) are as inept as the last lot. The plans changed from proven quality to young players but there's still nothing behind it for it to have a chance of working. Not good scouting. Not driving a hard bargain. Same with Barry, it won't happen overnight, we need to be patient and nurturing.

He wont become ready on the bench and if he aint doing it in training, then he is going to need a loan. So our marquee summer signing to bring in a new dawn at the new stadium is a lad who isnt ready to compete for a starting spot. Thats not me lacking patience, thats me suggesting he was the wrong signing for what we were in the market for. Rather, we had kept the kitty and had another look for fullbacks in Jan.

I dont dispute that his centre parting should be off its nuts dancing to 808 State in the Hacienda, circa 1988.

It's hard to tell having not seen him play much but he does have a bit of a "not arsed" presence about him. I'd expect a young player out to impress busting a gut and putting a shift in at a new club to try and impress but in the brief time he's had on the pitch that hasn't looked the case.

I don't disagree with most of what you say there, except Grealish is the marquee signing.

And even if it eventually gets to 40m it's a drop in the ocean, hopefully we can see him soon but there is no rush at the moment. Let him earn his place, he can look sideways at Röhl to see what commitment and maturity does to your chances, if that's where the issue lies.

He with Röhl, Aznou, Alcaraz, Garner at RB, Barry, Jake and Branthwaite for starters, and even Illi, we have a vision of who will be the leaders in 3-5 years time if theyre still all with us.

He's not a depreciating asset. If we're looking at it strictly from a financial point of view, we're not losing value like we did with so many others that left on frees or next to nothing over the last 5 years. Medium initial outlay, low financial risk, and potentially big upside.

Let's see him fight for a place in the team. Barry would also have been slow played had we not the paucity of options up front.

Same but the way Moyes spoke of KDH in the presser I think it's clear that unless his leg falls off he'll start every game in the 10

Dibling has to watch on the sidelines and earn his spot. He is obviously not doing enough in training and so it’s on merit that he’s not in the side. Not even coming on as sub says everything you need to know. As well as not being mentioned in press conferences or by the press.

KDH was brilliant yesterday, just in terms of the way he led the line and took up the slack of pressing as the second striker when Barry needed a breather (who also gave a lot and did everything he could to press high).

I think Dibling has to come round to the Everton way of doing things. He isn’t at a comfortable south coast club where he can be ok just being a talented kid coming through the academy. A shift in his mindset is needed to elevate him onto the next level.
