Periodic reminder that we could’ve signed Sander Berge instead of lighting a bunch of money on fire to get Andre Gomes.

He’s probably fortunate to have been managed by dyche and moyes for most of his premier league career.

Two managers that favour attitude and graft over talent.

Moyes not as much as dyche, but still has a tendency to overvalue that part of the game.

Garner has one pass in his repertoire. The drilled pass through the middle of the pitch when he has five yards of space.

Anytime he’s under the slightest bit of pressure it’s back to the centre half and instead of going into space to get it back he just runs sideways.

He’s been a lot better off the ball this season though so fair play on that.

Get to right back lad.

There was some on here talking about Soucek as an all action midfielder with years left in the tank

An absolute binfire of a US Sports style metric tbf.

Not saying there's not any value in it, but fuck me it's hard work especially with the silly annotations on the chart. "Matthew Stafford" as a reference point in a proper football measure ffs.

As an NFL fan I still don’t understand how Curtis jones is Tua?

Garner as a permanent right back anyone? He’s got the engine, the footballing intelligence to adjust to different positions, and an ability to play others in as well as shoot for goal from long range. Haven’t noticed anything defensively lacking either. Biggest negative seems to be losing him from midfield.

Nothing negative about losing him from midfield.

Horrendous in the midfield.

For now yes. Have to get a decent RB in Jan.

Nah. No where near good enough.

But he has improved this season, that's for sure.

Doesn't bother me Moyes saying this, doesn't mean it's true or he even believes it... If speaking publicly about a player and giving them more belief makes them play even better then there's no downside to it.

Also maybe he does believe it as he has always loved a limited grafter who will do whatever job benefits the team. Either way a happy player will almost always mean a better performing one.
