Think we'll always bear the scars of Martinez when we were 2-0 up and they scored in about the 98th minute to make it 3-3 and then the Goodison collapse last year. They seem to have our number at the moment.

Just need to grind out a draw here, back to basics, flat midfield 3 to cope with the Gana loss, take the point and play ugly when required and hope the flair players can create something at the other end.

Not that we can't get a result, it's definitely possible!

The win against United got us all dreaming and giddy about what’s possible.

The fact is that we are going to finish mid table doing nothing and threatening nothing all year. The football at times will be watchable and that’s about it. It’s what we could have only dreamed about over the past few seasons.

It’s going to take years to write the wrongs of the damage caused over the last 8 years. Every now and then we will get reminders of how far we have to go with performances and results like that against Newcastle. It doesn’t mean that we haven’t improved, but merely that we have a long way to go.

One hundred percent this, we just forget where we’ve been in recent seasons, our default is we’re one of the big four, or for the slightly younger people the big six or seven.

Id like 3 in the middle tonight if poss.

Garner in the 6, Tim and KDH either side of him.

It's a bit of a risk because Tim is pony and when he's bad he's literally unusable, might be a case he gets dragged off on half time but you cant completely discard him because he is technically our only other fit CM? If he's not playing in this situation then you might as well rip up his contract.

Is there really a way Tim plays after Saturday?

Garner and KDH behind Alcaraz seems the most logical move to me after what transpired on Saturday. Although seemed to me like Alcaraz was the deeper midfielder than KDH when he came on, for some reason.

Bournemouth are a high energy heavy pressing team, so I think Tim gets destroyed here just as badly as he did on Saturday.

We'll need Tim for Saturday as well when Garner picks up his 5th yellow of the season tonight.

I know, he's put in a disaster class there and the problem with him is that when he's bad then game could genuinely be out of sight by half time.... But he's the only other fit CM.

If he can't play today he's another patto and the prems smallest squad gets even smaller.

It’s a bad situation with Tim but I think you have to persist and try and get the best out of him rather than give up.

I don’t see many other good options in the squad, unless you drop KDH into midfield with Garner and bring in Charlie to the number 10. It could work but I think Moyes might be reticent to do that given KDHs good form.

No way should Tim be starting after that horror show on Saturday.

Also no way should we play a double pivot of Garner and KDH.

There are more formations in this world than 4-2-3-1, and a flat midfield 3 with KDH and Alcaraz and dual 8s with Garner in the 6 is the most logical.

Or if we absolutely do have to insist on KDH and Garner in a double pivot put Grealish in the 10 and move Ndaiye left and play Dibling right... The latter then gives us more height as whilst we have some big players we're actually a fairly small team overall.
