His goals at Villarreal (where Ayoze Perez scored 19 league goals in the same season) weren't the most encouraging types of finishes and I just don't think he has the physical advantage in this league compared to Spain. Has a 1-on-1 with Diakhite second half who just brushed him aside, probably gets a shot off there in La Liga.

I don't see a player who is going to score goals in this league with him sadly. Hope he proves me wrong but...
I don't see it. Links play well at times, wins headers but when it comes to making runs or the final action on the ball to get a chance to shoot he doesn't look like a striker at all. Think hes currently miles off scoring goals. Every chance we get someone in to play ahead of him in January

Poor lad.

But he is never anywhere near the ball in the box and it is a bit of a worry.

I’m rooting for him but I don’t see a Premier League level striker in there. Defenders brush him aside, he has no pace to get away from anyone, has yet to get in a goalscoring position and we are in December and none of his team mates seemingly fancy him either.

January we desperately need a proper striker.

He needs to play a bit closer to our midfield, if only we had runners off him.

Not sure what to think really. He's doing ok with distribution, but he's so far off it in the box. He looks like someone where we've taken away his main threat (presumably physicality in La Liga was a lot easier for him) and he's looking pretty lost because of it. He might need to bulk up a lot during the summer to try and regain that edge versus PL defenders.

Moyes has been pretty good to him in terms of the playing time he's getting of late, but 1 shot on target in that time is clearly not great. There haven't been many great chances for him, but when the ball does come to him it's been too many poor connections and whiffed shots that don't help the look for him. His confidence must be in the toilet though which can't help.

It's so hard to judge him because he's feeding off nothing, and probably snatching at the half good chances as a result.

He has three technically gifted players around him to give him some service, so if they haven’t been able to find him yet this season it probably means he isn’t making any kind of dangerous runs. Put a Jamie Vardy for example or someone like that in there and they find the clever movement all day long.

He is miles off it at present. By some distance.

I don't think it's that simple. Ndiaye creates for himself more than anyone else, and Grealish slows the ball down so much that nothing Barry could do would make him a decent option unless the delivery is perfect, and it hasn't been.

I definitely think we need to see more from him, I'm not going to say he's been anywhere near good enough, but we've only just started to see him find his feet in the last 3 games and in those the service has been really poor regardless of his effort.

Outside of corners we put maybe one decent delivery into the box all night tonight.

I'm afraid it's gone well beyond the scenario of as soon as he gets one he'll be fine.

I mean at least Beto was narrowly missing chances Ndiaye was putting on a plate for him, Barry isn't close enough to be an option. I think Grealish is at the top or near the top for chances created in the league. KDH is a technically decent footballer who makes good runs into the box.

I don't think our problems are solved by simply getting a striker in but at the same time, it's not like the fella is feeding off Harrison and Lindstrom.

If beto had Barry’s minutes I have no doubt he’d have at least five goals by now but the results would be worse as we’d be playing basketball with him not being able to keep hold of the ball.

He’s doing all the good things. I’m fine with him. A goal will come but as long as his work outside the box continues to be good im not really bothered.

Also, he does have to take part of the blame for not getting chances.

We have Jack Grealish in the team now. His work in the box, making space for himself and getting free leaves a lot to be desired but it’s all part of the process.

I mean, James garner put three corners in that any striker would love and he couldn’t get his head on any of them. It’s all part of the process.

Some good hold up play, has a very nice touch and has shown signs of good interplay.

Looks totally lost in the box, can't seem to shoot, doesn't have the pace or physicality to get himself the half yard needed to get shots off.

He's young, and I prefer him to Beto so keep playing him and cross our fingers some things click. Does have a great leap so he should be getting his head on to crosses into the box at least.

Scored last game but disallowed.

Hit the post from a corner this game, did really well with a chance that the keeper saved and did poorly with another effort.

It's coming... Just got to accept he's raw and it's going to take time to develop.
