I’d play him up top. Clever little player, busy, good feet, eye for goal. His link up play would be levels above the two options we currently have.

Not an awful shout at all.

Except maybe for the two dejected strikers on the bench with low morale.

I do genuinely get why some might have that opinion, he often makes the wrong decision, or he's careless when making the right one and doesn't make the pass or it's not quite right for the receiver to take and move in one go. There were also 2-3 times last night he got dispossessed in tight areas whereas Grealish and KDH wriggled out of very similar positions with the ball.

His pressing is fantastic though and I felt that actually played a big part in us nullifying them last night, he works super hard off the ball and we have missed that press machine since Doucoure left.

The difference with Alcaraz and Doucoure is though that I genuinely think if we just started Alcaraz he'd iron out the sloppiness and poor decision making because he's very good technically. He just isn't anywhere near the finished article. A finished version of him imo is actually a really good player... We need to develop him though through game time to make that happen...let's remember he's only just turned 23 so same age as Barry.

I have more sympathy for the 52,000 dejected fans having to watch these two tits fanny about on the pitch all season with no end product.

Thought we did benefit from his pressing and physicality today. Definitely happy to put himself about.

Personally prefer that setup today to having Iroegbunam in there as I dont think he can be trusted.

Glad he's getting more of a run.

He can blow hot and cold but he makes things happen.

He was good yesterday. On paper you'd think he was a player that Moyes would like but doesn't seem to be the case.

Did well to cut out the poor passes yesterday even if it did mean going safe to Pickford a fair few times. Him and Beto pressing the keeper in the second half got the crowd going too. We don't ask for much.

He feels a bit erratic at times with how he runs around. I can see why maybe Gueye and him in the middle could be a bit chaotic, so maybe in part that's why Moyes has been hesitant to play him.

Thought he added a little extra spice though to the midfield though yesterday.

One thing I love about him is he always breaks his neck to support the forwards and get in and around the box, with Barry's goal Ndiaye could have played either of him or Charly in. Got a good engine on him gets up and down and doesn't stop being a pest, our midfield looked dynamic yesterday and he was a big part of that.

There will be games where his abilities stand out and others where they may be a liability. Against better teams away from home Moyes won't risk him but at home like yesterday it was perfect.

Still very young. Won’t be as raw in a year or two.
