Funny when.you lose you tend to devalue performances like this. Rooney's breakout season aside, I dont think an Everton player has captured my imagination quite like he has, since the turn of the century.

My only negative is that I know he probably won't be here long term.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see serious interest from top teams this summer.

Same, but also on the flip side it would be a good piece of business to buy him for a relatively low fee and sell for a high one.

That's unfortunately where we are as a club so at least if we can reinvest it means we've had a successful transfer for once.

It's how we have to operate as a club and the sad reality is anyone who excels here will likely move on, so it's about maximising the resale value and trying to repeat it regularly rather than as a fluke one off.

Can’t win, everyone wants to follow the Brighton model, and when we do find a gem, we then worry about keeping him.
I hope we do keep him, but if we can triple or quadruple our money, then that’s the way to do it. Our problem is though we find one who we can make money on but that’s nullified by all the Nathan Patterson etc. signings we’ve made.

Rather than selling players before they have reached their potential, I would love to see players reach it, and then sell. It’s a step further than what we have previously been used to doing. We haven’t done it very often; I can think of Arteta, Kanchelskis and Lukaku as players that we have we sold at the top of their game. It’s what we need to start doing again rather than selling them before they reach it.

N’Diaye is already fantastic but he can go up another level even from where he is. Should he add goals and assists, then he will start to look like a top top player. By that point, he would be Barca worthy. At the moment, he belongs here and nowhere else.

I’m #1 for ball recoveries in my (Sunday) league. Everytime the ball goes out of play, I’m the one sent to fetch it.

Ha! I dreamed last night I’d been selected for the Brazil squad and the ball kept going out of the stadium into a multi-storey car park. As the newest addition to the subs bench, they kept sending me to fetch it.

Interestingly, Ham-Eggs Rodriguez was also playing for Brazil too, but he was actually on the pitch!
