James Tarkowski
Re: James Tarkowski
Dont see how he can be labelled uncultured when he directed Mirror, Stalker and Solaris.

Re: James Tarkowski
I don't think it's disloyal to question him for that action. It's one where he's needlessly putting himself in danger to be sent off, same as other dumb red cards that we've seen in the past like Richarlison's "headbutt".777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Tue Dec 09, 2025 9:25 pm We have a weird disloyal fanbase to many of our squad. Hes the captain. 1 of the reasons we are still a premier league club. We have 4 clean sheets in 5 games. Last time he was sent of was about a decade ago and hes a yard dog and we cant wait for him to go.
I think to our fanbase half our players represent our decline and half represent where we should be and its not particularly based on what they've done here. Tarkowski will always be talked down because he came from Burnley
You can differentiate between something like that and the player himself, who has been largely great for us. Much like Richarlison was too. Good players can do dumb things...see Gueye the other week.

Re: James Tarkowski
I always bang on about it but with Coleman out of the side he’s the only talker and organiser in the backline and we always look worse without him in there.
Branthwaite/O’brien sounds great on paper, two massive but really fast lads who are good ball players (by CB standards) but it would take a good season of that partnership before they clicked as neither one of them take charge.
When Tarks does drop out the side we need to replace him with another leader in there IMO - sadly probably with the money we get when Branthwaite moves on

I don’t think you should have one*, James, considering what’s happenedDeano Blue Boy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 09, 2025 9:52 pm Sack Tarkowski for being unloyal, disloyal. And for joining in fun in a way that excludes his employer.
I agree. Its like we have to find something to moan about. Best position we've been for ages, yet we are pulling down a player that has been very steady for us.

Ironically Tarks does look exactly like those "big eared boys on farms"sam of the south wrote: ↑Wed Dec 10, 2025 9:09 am I don’t think you should have one*, James, considering what’s happened

Re: James Tarkowski
I think its born from an inferiority complex, if they're playing for Everton, there must be something wrong with them. Our fanbase has commitment issues basically.Deano Blue Boy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 09, 2025 9:52 pm Sack Tarkowski for being unloyal, disloyal. And for joining in fun in a way that excludes his employer.

Re: James Tarkowski
I don't think it's that big a deal, more concerned about his form this season which hasn't been that great.

Re: James Tarkowski
People weren’t questioning him like “Oh no, why did he do that? That’s not like him.” though, were they? It was “fucking yard dog” “fucking shit” “could have lost us the game” “fake hard man” and other such overreactions.blueToffee wrote: ↑Wed Dec 10, 2025 3:12 am I don't think it's disloyal to question him for that action. I don't know, I'm sure there were people like that as well on social media or wherever. But as we saw with Gueye, incidents like this can work out but on another day they can cost you the points. Anyhow, I would like to believe the majority were just questioning that moment and not the player in general.Toddacelli wrote: ↑Wed Dec 10, 2025 7:28 pm People weren’t questioning him like “Oh no, why did he do that? That said, we're fans, and we're not (hopefully) in a cult so reasonable criticism of a player or manager should be fair game. I don't want to be in the business of printing off Luis Suarez t-shirts.

Re: James Tarkowski
I quite like that our fans can be objective about situations our players are in.
Tarkowski has never fully ingratiated himself with some of our fans though, which is what has possibly skewed the reaction with this one.

Re: James Tarkowski
What Tark did against Forest was pointless and silly. I don’t know why he decided to do it as he gained nothing from it.
However it didn’t cross the threshold from a yellow card for me. It was petulant rather than anything else.

Re: James Tarkowski
Haha very true. I think we still ptsd from the last few years. Soon as we got hammered by Newcastle I start worrying about relegation again. Assume the worst when it comes to signings who aren't doing well too (still dont think Barry makes it)
Think my point is more even some well performing players are treated quite poorly because they remind us more of our decline while others are treated better because they are fancier and we hope show we are still big. I think ive seen more people claim deli Ali kept us up than have claimed the same of tarkowski.
