He talked about most fans wanting to know that the regulatory body (ie PL) will enforce the rules and will have significant penalties for breaching the rules as a disincentive for doing it.

Fine, but when those penalties are not actually known up front, and are just seemingly made up on the spot, how do they act as a disincentive in any capacity?

The blue room podcast on this was very good.

Was nice to hear a level headed discussion whilst placing some of the blame on ourselves as well.

When you can't make sense of something, you have to consider other reasons. The independent board is anything but, the rule change post verdict is truly baffling but suggests protecting the elite clubs because you can't have a super league with teams from the championship 😉 It will change to a fine, which is fine by City with money to burn.

Surely the PL's attempts at staving off regulation by fucking us over with arbitrary, made up as they go along punishments, while keeping City sweet, and then changing the rules anyway, is only furthering the case for regulation? Can't they see that?

Forest fans seem to think that despite potentially being nearly twice over what we were on our initial charge that they should get a lesser punishment because:

They only went over in one year not a three year period - failing to understand it's taken over 3 years so there's literally no difference, only they spent more.

And that we tried to hide ours by claiming it was interest on stadium payments - yet they rejected a bid for Johnson before the end of the accounting period because they believed they could sell for more after despite 100% knowing this would put them in breach.

Absolute whoppers the lot of them, how is either of those excuses justification for getting a lesser penalty than us?

Strange bunch of human beings that lot.

We already tried that excuse with the Richarlison sale to Spurs didn't we?

I don't know whether it's the cynic in me and what's happened but it wouldn't surprise me at all if they allowed forest that as a mitigating factor and slapped them on the wrist instead.

It's within their interest to come down heavily on Forest as well tbf. It makes it look like they're consistent in their punishments.

If you're not part of the sly 6 then you're disposable.

I think Forest fans are massively naive and their rage will come when they find out how many points they are being docked.

Where’s our scumbag owner and his criminal oligarch mate during all this?

Hiding in Monaco filtering billions of pounds to bank account’s in Switzerland and jersey?

This is where my anger is going to be placed. Should be in jail the pair of them.

Why is the mayor of Manchester the prominent voice in taking the fight to the premier league?

He did,
Howver, it was the phraseology from the bloke on the panel from reading regarding "putting clubs over the precipice" by creating a divide between the bigger clubs "and the rest" then he pulls him for it..
