Jack Grealish
Re: Jack Grealish
Don’t mind it tbh.
The refs just let him get fouled constantly and you can see he gets frustrated with it.
Shouldn’t have lost the plot in the way he did but I’m not too fussed about it.
He’s definitely getting frustrated with the players around him and him stopping the ball to wait for players he trusts to pass to isn’t doing us any good.
Get him in the ten running towards the goal.

Re: Jack Grealish
Id be doing the same if I had Mykolenko behind me pretending he knows how to play footy. Or McNeil running through treacle around me like he is in a crack comedown.
Or Barry ahead of me not having a clue where he is.
Then the refs being billy big bollocks cos they get to talk on a fucking mic
No wonder he lost his head.
Shite though. Another battering at villa.

Can't comment on that because I haven't seen that, or in fact pretty much anything Liverpool related as avoid their games like a plague... But I don't think Jack left the ref any choice what so ever, was always going to be booked for such a sarcastic and aggressive clap.
He's picked up 4 or 5 bookings for dissent now this season so needs to cut it out.
Re: Jack Grealish
Valid but certain players get away with that because of who they are and who they play for.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 9:13 am Can't comment on that because I haven't seen that, or in fact pretty much anything Liverpool related as avoid their games like a plague... This is against Man City this season. He didn't get a yellow card.
Re: Jack Grealish
I don't think they're even comparable, if you make it look like you're genuinely applauding the ref that's different, Grealish had been gobbing off ion the refs ear for about five minutes before it, just got himself book then sarcastically and angrily applauded the ref, there's not real complaint, he's not an 18 year old finding his way in the game
Re: Jack Grealish
He'd lost his head because he's playing with a bunch of shite and the only plan is hoof it up often enough I til we can get jack 1v5 with their defence.
It was a yellow. I'd want a yellow for it, he got one for it

Re: Jack Grealish
Not defending him in the slightest. Was stupid and he let the club down. If that was James Garner then this thread would have another 10 pages by now.Gash wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 9:23 am I don't think they're even comparable, if you make it look like you're genuinely applauding the ref that's different, Grealish had been gobbing off ion the refs ear for about five minutes before it, just got himself book then sarcastically and angrily applauded the ref, there's not real complaint, he's not an 18 year old finding his way in the game
Absolutely less likely he gets a second yellow whilst playing for City with that though. That van Dijk one is just the latest one I could find. He does it all the time and gets away with it all the time because of who he is.
I don't think it's a secret that officiating standards at the moment are abysmal.
Re: Jack Grealish
Don't get me started on that fucking CRAB.
Why do we all think we're hoofing the ball up the pitch so much? Because we haven't got a midfielder worth his salt to come and collect the ball. SHITE CRAB.

Re: Jack Grealish
Yeah and that should definitely also be a yellow, but I don't think there's any excuse for Grealish... He lost his head completely and that's not what you need from a supposedly world class senior player.
I'm sure he's frustrated as fuck with our play and those around him, and then refereeing decisions adding to it, but I think he's starting to become part of the problem now too.
I wouldn't say I'm done with him exactly, as he is obviously a brilliant player, but I'm looking forward to next season and someone else playing out there on the left hopefully.
Re: Jack Grealish
Not arsed with it. He was frutrated with the ref, the game, his team mates and probably every time he pulls the shirt on now and looks across the dressing room. Must be a big comedown.

Re: Jack Grealish
With possibly the worst attacking lb as his cohort it’s all a bit laboured now.
Should be given a go centrally I feel.
Be nice to try Aznou either with him at lwb, or as the lw with Grealish central, but then again maybe Aznou is nowhere near ready and/or never will be, but we’ll never know unless we give something a try.

Re: Jack Grealish
Accepting he's got no LB bombing on, i assume to whip a cross in, for that great striker who could head a ball, other than to clear it. Why doesn't he move inside and play a through ball instead. A little one two and then actually shoot, rather than a neat pass to someone who can't react quick enough. Moyes needs to use him differently and us, generally. The same moves repeated, even when they have no successful outcomes needs changing because it's horrible to watch

Re: Jack Grealish
I would say a 3 at the back with wingbacks would be a way to get Aznou in and around him but we’re struggling to field two CBs at the moment!
