Re: Everton v Sunderland

I was starting to write this one off as in not care if we get knocked out.

But now I think about it if we got through, then maybe got a favourable 4th round draw and then by the time of the 5th round with a bit of luck we'd have a load of players back and could dream of a good run.

It's going to depend a lot on how seriously they take it I think. Will they not be arsed about the cup and just want to consolidate the great league season they're having? Or will they look at it now that they're totally safe from the drop, but also just part of the massive mid-table pack that they might as well go all out for a good cup run themselves?

I never understand how some people “wish” us to lose….maybe it’s just in my mental make up for us to want to win every game no matter what the team we put out…the competition we’re playing in…I realise we’re not gonna win every game…or win the league but just accepting defeat before a ball is kicked…give me a break…

.i’m not happy to just scratch fkk under the game…..read a post in another thread (no names mentioned) who said we should just write this season off because we’ve been crap” ffs…just over half way through the season on 29 points mid table…..6 points off fifth…..and we shud write this season off!!! Give me a break…
Short memory…look at the last few seasons….good job we didn’t just give up on them isn’t it…..

I admire your optimism, there's a lot of ifs and buts in that

People just lose their heads after a few poor results.

It’s internet football discourse at its worse. Little emotional intelligence on show when we aren’t playing well.

Anything can happen in football obviously but I don't see how after watching us without key players in the last couple of matches that we can be anything but second favourites. The team we put out against bottom of the league Wolves was no better than the opposition.

No Grealish, N'diaye or KDH is just a huge miss. Their replacements are absolutely nowhere near.

Even if Sunderland rotate, they've still got plenty of pace in the team and players in their proper positions. Pretty sure their front 3/4 will be a lot better than ours.

Not having sunderland at home with a load of players out as an“anything can happen game”

Their last team had a centre half in midfield and a centre half at left back.

They’re down to the bare bones themselves.

They’ll play to win as should we…..both teams decimated…but that should be an inspiration to the players coming in…just hope ours want it more than theirs….

We've been twatted at home with a full strength team by Spurs and Newcastle. Yes, we are weakened but no reason not to think even with Ndiaye, Gana and KDH in the lineup on Sunday we wouldn't have folded like we did in those two previous games.

It's 11 v 11. Anything can happen. I don't have any expectations here. Win or lose would not be a surprise.

Line ups will be championship levels this weekend, well for us definitely.

Some of their afcon players are back. So who knows

12.15 ko. Place will be dead.

Good opportunity for a few people coming in to cover the massive gaping holes, hopefully they prove moyes wrong and we get another forest style performance.

Difficult game this with the players we have out, but watching them against us at their spot I wasn't overly impressed with them. We've got a good chance if we play well.

I thought they battered us and looked miles better than us at their place from 30 minutes on

We were all over them start of the game though. If Ndiaye and Gana go out after the match today then can we bring them back?!
