Re: David Moyes
There’s an element of Moyes can only work with who he’s got.
If Gana, N Diaye, Grealish, KDH, Branthwaite, Alcaraz and Coleman are all unavailable then there’s no option than to play the likes of Patterson, Dibling, McNeil plus Mykolenko doesn’t have competition for his position because our squad numbers are so light.

Re: David Moyes
This. Not sure many managers would get more of a tune out of the current squad than Moyes. Improving the quality of the side is the more pressing concernNickNack wrote:I’d be changing half the squad before the manager

I agree.Cods wrote: ↑Sun Jan 11, 2026 6:57 am In one sense Im happy he got us to 29 points and well on the way to safety so quickly. It eased a huge weight for us, imagine if we were in another year of relegation trouble.
Get the runs on the board as quickly as possible, then you can relax a bit and rest/test the squad.
But we all know Moyes. He won't try new things even if we are clear of relegation. I would love to be wrong about that. But if you know your history...
Re: David Moyes
Listened to the UHT podcast this morning and heh kind of went in on the people moaning about Moyes, and tbh was hard to disagree with anything they said.
Worth a listen imo (it's on their Sunderland match review).

Re: David Moyes
As a fanbase we're desperate to have something to look forward to, and it's resulting in very little patience for the change we want to see, and zero tolerance of anything that isn't seen as building towards the bright new future we all want.
Unfortunately, that means anytime Moyes does what he does, and plays it safe when people think there are better options nothing being utilised, it's probably viewed much more negatively than it should be.
It also means even a half good 15 minutes of football from any of those options results in a mass rush to get them in the starting line up. It happens with Beto everytime he comes on and has a good 20 minutes, and yet he still does absolutely nothing next time he starts.
If we get 2-3 of those missing back and we still look turgid, yeah we might need to worry a little, for now we just have to hope Moyes makes a half decent soup out of day old scraps until we can invest more in the summer.

Afternoon everyone
had my first visit to the new stadium on Saturday first time seeing Everton for possibly 6-7 years remember why I stopped going.
i live in Devon so 4.5hours drive a girl stop off as I’m too old to go up and back in a day and watched us play so bad it was embarrassing got back into then tge penalties which were just dire
we need new scouts as the recruitment from abroad is just ridiculous
loved the stadium and the hospitality in the village street bought a paving slab as well so will have to come back but maybe next season now
As for Moyes done a solid job and just needs a striker

Re: David Moyes
He has his ways and we mostly know what we're going to get. And for that at the moment I'm kind of ok with, its positive and an improvement.
It will be interesting to see his approach this time around considering he's unlikely to be headhunted and is apparently not here to just float around mid table. We know he's a meticulous and systematic builder and if you earn your stripes by doing what he wants, you're in. Not without his faults. Like every manager to some extent.
Hey I'm even surprised Aznou got a run against the Mackems in the cup. It might be a bit different to expectation this time around.
