Haha

Half the stuff in that post isn’t even true.

But, yeah, very insightful.

Is it taken from this post?

That's not how I read this at all.

Have you considered commenting on his hairline or saying 'he's shit'?

Anyway for me...I'm glad he's in the squad and he's contributed really well.

But he's just not that good. He's alright, he runs about, he puts a shift in and uses the ball okay. He can whip a ball in. He's a decent prem player which is better than I thought he was tbh.

He's nowhere near as good as Wharton or Anderson or Idrissa Gana Gueye.

But he's alright! Long may he continue and if he does a few more of those balls to Barry I'd be delighted.

No 3to1 to win in 90 minutes

Senegal probably have a slightly better team overall, but Morocco haven't lost a game at home since 2009.

Oh oops, I viewed the top part (matches played, goals/assists) as this season as it shows stats for 1883 minutes. I interpreted the bottom section as covering covering 3224 minutes from the last 365?

Might just be a weird UX choice connected to links for other reports?

Surprised you've been able to avoid calling him a kopite for two posts in a row.

But he is a kopite? And it does affect my opinion of him? So I don't get why you're making out I pretend it doesn't?

Playing half his games at full back.

Being more progressive than Wharton

Just the comparison to two players who I feel are clearly a level above Garner as well, but that’s objective.

Apologies, in 10 out off 21 EPL games he has played in, (or 48% - quite nit picky to be honest), he has played at either left or right full back. I didn't refer to total minutes, partly as that data isn't available.

More complete passes at a better rate,
Passing distance
Garner 754
Wharton 621

Progressive carrying distance
Garner 68.3
Wharton 65.2

Carries into the final 1/3
Garner 1.10
Wharton 1.09

Disposessed
Garner 0.24
Wharton 0.76

Passes received
Garner 36.2
Wharton 30.5

Progressive passes received
Garner 1.58
Wharton 0.87

The only stats I can find that were out was # of progressive carries & passes, not sure if I picked up the non per 90 number, or if last night's Sunderland game data had since been included.

Either way, progressive receives at more than double Wharton's total would seem to counteract that smallish discrepancy, given it's difficult to both deliver and receive progressive passes based upon their pitch location definitions.

An important point to note is that none of his carries from the edge of our box to just short of the half way line count, nor do any progressive passes delivered from the defensive 40% of the pitch, which I think might skew Garner's stats considerably, given his deeper role.

He just gets and uses far more of the ball in general. And receives it in better and more advanced positions. And scores, and assists.
