We can do this with almost every player. We'd have bloody stayed up more comfortably if we bought players who were fit or weren't crap.AllyBlue14 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 3:58 pm And yet, I think we'd have gone down last season without him.

Re: January Transfer Window
Yeah, possibly. Swings and roundabouts really, if he'd stayed fit we might have been able sell him for a decent profit two or three years ago and not been done for FFP, who knows.AllyBlue14 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 3:58 pm And yet, I think we'd have gone down last season without him.
Re: January Transfer Window
Sigurdsson, Gomes, Dele Alli, Tosun, Bolasie, Gbamin - all arrived for big money or on big money, did fuck all, left for nothing, or even worse are still here bleeding us dry with nothing to show for it.
Yerry was at least really good whenever he got on the pitch.

Re: January Transfer Window
Yeah one of the most frustrating ones Mina as its actually a big money signing we got right ability wise.
Says it all that he'd be out for about 3 months and then just slot straight back in and be absolutely brilliant.
Don't think he'd even had much of an injury record before we signed him too.
Plenty of the shit the last few seasons has been all our own doing but there's been a fair slice of awful luck in there too.

Gbamin stings as well, should have been a game changer for us after selling Gueye.Bluenose91 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 9:56 am Yeah one of the most frustrating ones Mina as its actually a big money signing we got right ability wise.

Yeah again no fault of his own but another 25m we may as well have just flushed down the toilet.

Re: January Transfer Window
Because getting rid of your only winger with any pace and bring in a 6ft6 CB is exactly what's needed right now.

Arnaut Danjuma’s (26) prospective move from Everton to Olympique Lyonnais has hit a snag, according to L’Équipe. The Premier League side are insisting on receiving Jake O’Brien (22) as part of the deal.
Danjuma has been linked with a move to Lyon throughout the window, however, a deal has been complicated by the fact that the Netherlands international must first be recalled from his loan spell at Everton, before once again being loaned out by parent club Villarreal.
According to L’Équipe, Everton are in fact willing to allow Danjuma’s loan spell at Goodison Park to be cut short, but on one condition, that Lyon sell O’Brien to them. However, John Textor is unequivocal in his stance that the Irish centre-back will not leave Lyon this month, having proved to be OL’s best defender so far this season. Les Gones are hoping that Everton will change their stance in order to secure the arrival of Danjuma before the closure of the transfer window next Thursday.

O’Brien looks potentially immense tbf and pretty similar to Branthwaite, who will surely be our next saleShogun wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 7:39 pm Because getting rid of your only winger with any pace and bring in a 6ft6 CB is exactly what's needed right now.

Re: January Transfer Window
No point. Only way you're getting in this team as a winger is if you're willing play 2nd full back.
