Re: Brighton v Everton
When we played 4 centre backs in the past, I think under Moyes and Ancelloti.. we did ok, today I've struggled to stay awake ;(
Where is Aznu?
Hope O'brien is replaced with Patterson.

Re: Brighton v Everton
The plan isn't to have 0xg. Moyes will be as annoyed about that as we are.
But we're in the game, and the attacking threat can be improved.

Re: Brighton v Everton
I'd get Patto on.
Maybe Dibling.
Haven't got a fucking clue if I'm being honest.
Alcaraz for Armstrong?

Re: Brighton v Everton
Listening on the radio and it sounds very much like a typical drab game between two midtable teams.
Not great to not have anything on goal though.
Not heard armstrongs names once. Don’t know if moyes is making the right decision picking him over Rohl

People saying they are decent they are in 13th place in the league a win today would take us level on points with the shite why can’t what worked against villa work here classic conservative Moyes wanting not to lose more than winning

Re: Brighton v Everton
Hook Keane, patts on Jake into the middle, that's if Branthwaite is ok to carry on
Re: Brighton v Everton
Concerned about Gana - whenever he loses the ball he seems to just trudge back towards our goal, seemingly not up to the pace?

Re: Brighton v Everton
Oh just realized we don't have either of Myko or Aznou on the bench. A bit odd, but I guess we'd probably just pull Garner back there anyhow.
The weirdest part of this formation is seemingly having Armstrong play on the right wing.

Re: Brighton v Everton
Bit anti-football but he's obviously come here with a gameplan to avoid anything apart from a light press and make Brighton come on to us.
The overall set up I get, but we dont have any pace to offer an effective counter. Ref has waved away loads of fouls too which doesnt help us.
I'd bring on Dibling for Armstrong and have KDH push up a bit more into the 10, try to offer some service to Barry and have half a chance of all 3 points, rather than hanging on to 1.

Re: Brighton v Everton
Missed most of the first half as took the kids to watch the Sponge Bob movie... Was surprised to see Armstrong wide right when I got in.
Feels like Moyes really is sending message to Dibling. In the long run it might work out for the best, but not sure what he hopes to achieve with a right side of JOB and Armstrong!

Re: Brighton v Everton
I know Moyes has always said players are injured and been really vague about it, but I'm still convinced there's been a flu bug going round. Just too many players randomly find one minute and then out for a few weeks the next.blueToffee wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 3:59 pm Oh just realized we don't have either of Myko or Aznou on the bench. Re: Brighton v Everton
So many clubs in the middle of the league are pretty similar, really not much between 7th to 13th. If Brighton beat us they'd go above us as an example.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 3:56 pm People saying they are decent they are in 13th place in the league a win today would take us level on points with the shite why can’t what worked against villa work here classic conservative Moyes wanting not to lose more than winning
Doesn't mean they're great, but based on points so far, they're pretty much the same as us.
